Summary[edit]

Description View of the Recommissioning ceremony aboard the U.S. Navy destroyer USS DD-224 (ex-USS Stewart (DD-224)) on the ship's foredeck, while she was moored in Hiro Wan, Japan, on 29 October 1945, after her recovery from the Japanese. Stewart was scuttled at Surabaya, Java, on 2 March 1942. She was raised by the Japanese and recommissioned on 20 September 1943 as the Japanese Navy's Patrol Boat No. 102. Note her Japanese-style hull number. The destroyer USS Compton (DD-705) is alongside.
