Description
English: Pearl Harbor, Hi. (Sep. 24, 2002) -- Construction crews put finishing touches on the Mall at Pearl Harbor’s new Navy Exchange (NEX) and DeCA Commissary. The crews work under a mural painted by world renowned sea-life artist Wyland. Wyland painted the mural exclusively for the Navy Exchange, earlier this year. The mural covers a 10,000 square foot area, from 40 feet above ground level to 70 feet at the top of the rotunda. The new NEX at Pearl Harbor will be the largest Navy Exchange in the world and the Commissary will be the largest in Hawaii. Both facilities will have a Grand opening on Oct. 25th.
