English: Mediterranean Sea (Sept. 18, 2005) – Ens. John Connally, the communications officer aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa (LHA 1), records himself reading for his daughter and wife back home in San Diego, through a program called United Through Reading. The Program, started during the first Gulf War and sponsored by the Family Literacy Council, is designed to help children stay emotionally connected to their parents while they are deployed in service to our country.
