Description Zeichnung der etwa 1978 auf einem Kartoffelacker nordwestlich von Vernawahlshausen gefundenen kleinen Steinaxt (L. 10,3; B. 4,15; D. 3,7; Bohrungs-Dm. 2,2-1,85 cm; Gew. 233 g) aus grünlichgrauem Felsgestein. Datierung: Mittelneolithikum (Rössener Kultur). Verbleib: Museum Hofgeismar, ohne Inventar-Nummer. Literatur: Roland Henne, Mittelalterliche Wüstungen im Gericht Gieselwerder und ihre Siedlungsplätze. In: Waldenserdörfer Gottstreu und Gewissenruh. Beiträge zur Orts- und Heimatgeschichte und zum Dorfleben 1722-1997, hrsg. vom Gemeindevorstand der Gemeinde Oberweser und der Sparkassenstiftung des Landkreises Kassel (Oberweser 1997) 403-454, hier 405 ("überschliffene Steingeräte [Äxte, Beile] aus der Jungsteinzeit liegen als Einzelfunde vor aus [...] Vernawahlshausen [1 Steinaxt]", mit Anm. 7), 452 Anm. 7 ("die in Vernawahlshausen gefunde Steinaxt ist in das Museum Hofgeismar abgegeben worden").
