Notes
  • Significance: The Lucas House is architecturally significant as an example of the bungalow, the predominant house type of Boone County during the interval between World Wars I and II. It is characteristic of the bungalows built in large numbers for middle-class families in the county during the 1920s and 30s. It exhibits the defining characteristics of its type: open plan; low, compact form; unpretentious "natural" materials; and Craftsman-inspired details, including broad eaves, deep porch, battered piers and geometrical ornamentation.
  • Survey number: HABS KY-268
  • Building/structure dates: 1939 Initial Construction
