Description |
The experts at Bruun Rasmussen referred to the vessel as "the training ship Dannebrog". They seem to be the only ones who have heard about such a ship. In Denmark, young men were trained as sailors in the fully rigged ships Danmark and Georg Stage, but in 1944 there was a war on, and Danmark was in the United States, training sailors for the U.S. Coast Guard, and Georg Stage was moored in Isefjorden. Only Georg Stage had a black hull, and Arnesen would not have any problems remembering what she looked like under sail. |
