Description
English: (a) Thin section transmission electron microscopy photomicrograph of Junín virus (JUNV) Candid#1 budding from the surface of Vero E6 cells. (b) Structure of a JUNV particle. (c) Phylogenetic tree of the Arenaviridae family. The top half of the figure shows the New World arenaviruses and the bottom half shows the Old World arenaviruses. The New World arenaviruses are separated into three different clades (A, B, and C). Genetic variation is depicted as distance.
