Description

Hobbemastraat 26, Amsterdam Zuid Zuiderbad, detail hal. Rijksmonument nr.505901 Cultural Heritage monument, built in 1898 as a driving school. It became a swimmingpool in 1912.

De in 1898 tot stand gekomen voormalige wielrijschool 'Velox', thans zwembad 'Zuiderbad'. De school werd gebouwd naar een ontwerp van de architect J. Ingenohl. Gebouwd in overgangs-architectuur.

De wielrijschool bestond tot 1908. Dankzij een verbouwing in 1911, naar ontwerp van J. Stuyt en E. Verschuijl, kreeg het gebouw in 1912 zijn nieuwe functie als 'Zuiderbad'.
