| Description |
English: Warning sign by the canal at Alrewas, Staffordshire This sign is by Alrewas Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Here the canal water level is lowered to the prevailing level of the River Trent. Narrowboats then proceed for a few hundred metres along the river before following a course north of it, avoiding getting stuck on the weir (see other pictures). The coloured indicators mentioned are below the lock. It is dangerous and foolhardy to disregard them. |
