Description
Deutsch: Luftbild Sächsisches Kinderheim (auch: Sächsisches Kinderkurheim; „Weiße Kinderstadt am Bodden“), Wiek auf Rügen – Für Kuraufenthalte von Kindern aus Sachsen eingerichtet, finanziert durch 35 sächsische Kommunen, federführend das Jugendamt der Stadt Chemnitz, geplant von den Bauhaus-Architekten Oskar und Gustav Waldo Wenzel, von 1920 bis 1929 für 1,5 Mio. Mark errichtet, ab 1922 von Mitte April bis Mitte Oktober von bis zu 1.250 Kindern bevölkert, in jeweils sechswöchigem Belegungsrhythmus für anreisende Gruppen von ca. 50 Kindern, jeweils begleitet von zwei Müttern. Kurz vor und während des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurde die Anlage umgewidmet zum Hilfs- bzw. Reservelazarett, als staatliche Erziehungsanstalt und Wehrertüchtigungslager, später als Kaserne.
