What exactly does the map depict? It should be obligatory to tell the user about which data is used and how for drawing such a map. For example: The map says that Eastern Germany is "protestant". Well, there may be more Protestant Christians there than members of any other religion, but as of 2007, 68% of East Germans were not a member of any church. --AndreasPraefcke 09:35, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate the map. It tells us about the traditional religious situation in Europe, and as such, with regard to its scale, it is remarkabely exact. It doesn't give the present situation, of course, because due to migration, such a map would be a lot more difficult to draw. What is more, the traditional situation is perhaps culturally even more valid. E.g., Zurich now has a Catholic majority, but its Reformed tradition is still prevalent – in the overall political culture (this point is difficult to show), the number of bank holiday etc.

I agree the colour is wrong for Zurich , another area depicted as protestant whereas catholics are more numerous than protestants in this city.

Kuck in die Wikipedia! Das markierte Gebiet ist zumindest traditionell vor allem von Kalmücken bewohnt (heute sind Russen die Bevölkerungsmehrheit). Die Kalmücken sind aus Ostasien eingewandert, nachdem sich unter ihnen wie unter anderen mongolischen Völkern der tibetische Buddhismus durchgesetzt hatte. -- 87.176.152.215 20:24, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

irreführende Karte 1 - Estland

Bei einem Prozentsatz von 13,6% Protestanten in Estland ist es nicht nur irreführend, sondern schlicht falsch Estland in der Grafik als Protestantisch einzufärben. Ich habe ein Jahr in Estland gewohnt und meine jeder Este würde sich durch so eine Unterstellung beleidigt fühlen. Estland ist mehrheitlich konfessionslos. Bitte korrigiert das. Das ist schon richtig, aber will man Religionslose oder Mischverhältnisse oder nicht orthodoxe orientalische Christen ergänzen, müsste man die Karte ganz neu entwerfen. So höchstens eine grobe Orientierung.--78.53.96.238 16:18, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

I'm from Baden-Württemberg, and the coloring looks pretty accurate to me. It reflects the traditional religious division between Altwürttemberg, Neuwürttemberg, and the state of Baden with its pockets of traditionally protestant regions. --Terfili (talk) 08:38, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

The last contribution is not providing data , just an opinion .. so far ... As per EKD statistics, there is clear majority of catholics compared to protestants in Baden en Wurttemberg. So could you or anyone please provide the data that the above stated opinion is true (and by the way at the same time also proving that both the catholic church and the protestant church in Baden-Wurttemberg are wrong about their number of adherents).
