Since all images uploaded to local projects are to be replaced with images on Commons, the reference for the colours given by the person who uploaded this file will be lost as soon as that happens. There are standards for the colours of the Dutch flag, to which there are references on the original picture - marked as "duplicate" by the creator of this image. By creating an image under another name, and deleting all images that have references to the origin of the colours, information is lost. -- Quistnix 08:45, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

This flag is not correct indeed as the coefficients for the red color have to be X=18,3; Y=10; Z=3,0. See [2]. I have no clue on how to change this in the svg file however. - Pahles (talk) 10:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Did some more research. It seems the RGB colors used in the file are correct. The XYZ colors mentioned in the description are wrong, however. As said the red is X=18,3; Y=10; Z=3,0 and the blue is X=7.5; Y=6.6; Z=25.3 according to the Dutch standardization bureau as mentioned in the link in my previous comment. - Pahles (talk) 09:00, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Important: This flag is WRONG!

Change category

Can someone with matching rights please change the category Category:Flags with three horizontal stripes of blue, red and white colour combination (now a redirect) to Category:Flags with three horizontal stripes of blue, red and white color combination?

Incorrect color conversion

The relevant Dutch flag standard (NEN 3055) specifies the following values, in accordance with the CIE 1931 standard (2 degree angle) under standard illumant C:

• Red: X = 18.3, Y = 10.0, Z = 3.0
• Blue: X = 7.5, Y = 6.6, Z = 25.3

The RGB colors used in this flag are calculated by using standard illumant D65, which is incorrect. The correct colors should be:

• Red: #AD1D25
• Blue: #1E4785
