Mandate Line[edit]

Hello Idh0854, I restored the old Mandate Line for following reasons (as I told you two times before):

1st the uploader of this image wrote in description that this South Pacific C-Mandate should be drawn in a color that is different to the color of occupied countries as this islands were not occupied.

2nd you while you "pettify" (That is what you comment says) the Mandate Line you left a visible trail in the picture of the old (deleted) line. That I call uploading an image with less quality than before.

By the way: I don't understand why you always answer by mentioning Ryukyu Islands. I never touched them nor did I change color on them.

I also think that for contrast and recognizing reasonsthe darker grey is a better color for drawing land than the lighter grey is you use.

Greetings --Valentim (talk) 15:12, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, late.
1, You can ascertainable that color of my version. These two colors may seem similar, but they have undoubtedly different. (Can you blow-up of my version map?)
2, Sorry. I don't understand mean of "pettify" word. (exept, too.(in file Edit summary of file)) If my guessed right, you want the very best quality for file of my version. Umm.. But if it's true, I would be making new version, again.
3, Umm.. have a misunderstanding about mean of my mention. Ryukyu is the independent nation as The Greater Korean Empire in those days. Therefore, Ryukyu color equal to color korea & Taiwan island, and Sakhalin island. (Sure, I have eyes for Ryukyu history, too.)
Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 08:37, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's OK, we live geographically on two different parts of the world :-)
The problem with your choice of colour is, that it is to near to the colour used for occupied countries. I can barely see the difference, but before you wrote that I was wondering if my monitor or my eyes are playing tricks on me. Imagine what the other 99% of users think who do have no knowledge about this topic... No, in my opinion the colour shouldn't be changed.
Nevertheless, I (have to) agree that your Mandate line looks better than the Mandate line of the author of this map (by the way: I meant "prettify", that means to make something more beautifull, sorry for my spelling mistake). Let's see if I can correct the visible trail of the deleted original line on one of your versions.
To summ up: Your line, the authors colour. Let's see, who is uploading this version first, yea? :-)
Sorry for our misunderstandings (and therefore for reseting colour on Ryukyu islands, which was not my intention), next time we will accomplish tasks faster. Greetings --Valentim (talk) 03:12, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, okay. I'm understand the meaning. :) I will change a few days(today or tomorrow), reflect your opinion. We resolve a misunderstanding. Thank you! --Idh0854 (talk) 05:34, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm upload new version, now. But I don't delete about the visible trail of the deleted original line. (Because, the visible trail of the deleted original line not display in file edit computer But Mobile PC display it..) Sorry. Would you check it? --Idh0854 (talk) 06:34, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Revert by Idh0854[edit]

  • Would you please explain your revert? I made the following changes: marked Okinawa and Kurils as Japan proper (they were never considered colonies), and changed the borders to contemporary (for example, Kazakhstan was not an independent nation before 1991). Elmor (talk) 18:15, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Umm, late. Sorry. Your example is wrong. Because, Kazakhstan is en:Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in Soviet Union, not same Ryukyu(Okinawa) and Kurils. - Okinawa and Kurils is not Republic in japan, colony and occupied territory. - And, do you know the Ryukyu kingdom? The Ryukyu kingdom is a strategic location in East Asia. Also, for centuries, Okinawa had been part of The ryukyu kingdom, it is not same "never" Kazakhstan. (The Ryukyu kingdom was independent country, occupied territory, colony, and one region, now.) Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 04:17, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • I think you did not understand what I've said. 1) The Empire of Japan existed in 1889-1945 (de-jure up to 1947). During these years Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia and so on were part of one country - Soviet Union. Also, there were no such countries as Vietnam, Cambodia etc. - they were a pert of French Indochina. What I'm trying to tell is that marking them as independent would be wrong. Do you agree? 2) Sure, the Ryukyu Kingdom existed as an independent nation before it was annexed by Japan in 1879. But it was considered to be part of "Japan proper" (内地) by the authorities of the Empire, while, for example Korea considered to be a colony. Elmor (talk) 11:53, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
