Gamelan

English: A gamelan is a kind of musical ensemble of Indonesian origin typically featuring metallophones, xylophone(s), drums, and gongs. The term can be used to refer either to the set of instruments or the players of those instruments. Gamelan orchestras are common to the Indonesian islands of Java, Madura, Bali, and Lombok (and other Sunda Islands), in a wide variety of ensemble sizes and formations.

日本語: ガムランは、東南アジア・インドネシア・ジャワ島中部のカラウィンタン（伝統音楽）で使われる金属製楽器と太鼓など楽器の総称。楽器編成や楽器を指すが、その音楽をも指すこともある。ガムランオーケストラはジャワ島、マドゥーラ島、ロンボク島、その他スンダ諸島などで共通してみられ、その規模や形態はさまざまである。
