HMS Vanguard was a unique battleship of the Royal Navy, built at the John Brown and Company shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland. She was the last British battleship to be built, laid down in 1941, launched in 1944 and commissioned in 1946. She was flagship of the Royal Navy from 1949 until 1960, the year she was scrapped.
