Several templates on Commons which are linked to Wikidata or to Commons:Structured data on Commons is able to detect cases when Commons template has information which missing in the Wikidata or Structured data. In the simplest cases such situation can be reported by adding the page to a maintenance category. In the most Elaborate cases the template can create URL which when clicked can trigger QuickStatements with prefilled commands needed to add the missing information to Wikidata or structured data. This page will document some of those cases in order to demystify the mechanism and to allow copying it to other projects.
{{Object location}} template uses Module:Coordinates. If page using this template has wikidata parameter or is connected to Wikidata through a sitelink, than the template can fetch coordinates from Wikidata, from coordinate location (P625) property. If the template has both local and Wikidata coordinates than both sets are being compared by calculating distance between both locations in meters. Part of the Wikidata coordinates is measurement precission
