Deutsch: Die kolorierte Federzeichnung stammt aus einer süddeutschen Handschrift der «Alemannischen Vitaspatrum» (um 1477), einer volkssprachlichen Legendensammlung. Ihre Überschrift: «Wie haiden tragn ire aptgötter umb das vellt und bitten umb regen und andre geprestenn» (Wie die Heiden ihre Abgötter im Freien herumtragen und um Regen und andere Bedürfnisse bitten).
English: This coloured pen drawing comes from a southern German manuscript which is called the "Alemannisches Vitaspatrum" (c. 1477) being a collection of legendary folklore. The title is "Wie haiden tragn ire aptgötter umb das vellt und bitten umb regen und andre geprestenn" (How pagans use to carry their idols around praying for rain and other necessities).
Français : Ce fusain coloré est extrait d’un manuscrit, originaire du sud de l’Allemagne, de la «Vitas patrum alémanique» (vers 1477), qui réunit des légendes de la culture populaire. Elle porte la légende suivante : «Wie haiden tragn ire aptgötter umb das vellt und bitten umb regen und andre geprestenn» (Comment les païens portent leurs idoles en procession pour implorer la pluie et présenter d’autres requêtes).
