English: Epstein's 1913 sculpture The Rock Drill in its original form. This work appeared in the An exhibition of the Camden Town Group and Others . Epstein later said "Here is the armed, sinister figure of today and tomorrow. No Humanity, only the terrible Frankenstein's monster we have made ourselves into... later I lost my interest in machinery and discarded the drill.
