Description

Великомученик Димитрий Солунский. "Родимая" икона царевича Дмитрия Ивановича.

Икона в окладе. Размеры: 48,0 х 16,5 х 2,5 см Москва, 1582 г. Дерево, левкас, серебро, темпера, золочение, басма. Происходит из Архангельского собора Московского Кремля. ММК. Ж-525/1

Мерная икона младшего сына Ивана Грозного, царевича Димитрия Угличского (1582-1591), выполнена в 1582 году. Святой Димитрий-воин представлен фронтально в рост. В правой руке он держит крест, а в левой опирается на изящный меч в ножнах. Димитрий облачен в короткую красную тунику и пластинчатый доспех, поверх которого надета короткая золотистая туника. Складки туники и пластины доспеха моделированы при помощи ассиста. Темный сине-зеленый плащ с редко расположенным золотым орнаментом завязан на левом плече узлом.
