A large number of ships are present, among them twenty Reserve Fleet escort aircraft carriers. Identifiable ships are USS Norfolk (DL-1), at left at the end of the wharf extending from the drydock and the aircraft carrier USS Antietam (CVS-36), in the lower left.

Of the mothballed ships, the follwing are identifiable:

• Upper row, beginning with the fourth escort carrier from the left: USS Nehenta Bay (CVE-74),
• USS White Plains (CVE-66),
• USS Rudyerd Bay (CVE-81),
• USS Hoggatt Bay (CVE-75),
• USS Mindoro (CVE-120), next to the dry dock,
• USS Dayton (CL-105),
• USS Suwannee (CVE-27),
• USS Chenango (CVE-28),
• the destroyer next to the pier is USS Charles J. Badger (DD-657).
