English: Södertälje is the fifteenth largest city in Sweden, is located in the province of Södermanland between the cities Nyköping, Stockholm and Strängnäs. The entire municipality has slightly more than 80 000 inhabitants – of which about 60 000 lives in the actual city. Södertälje is one of the oldest cities in Sweden, and originates from the Viking ages. It received its town privileges in the year 1000.
Svenska: Södertälje är Sveriges femtonde största stad räknat på tätort. Staden är belägen i Sörmland mellan Nyköping, Stockholm och Strängnäs. Hela kommunen har strax över 80 000 invånare, varav omkring 60 000 bor i själva staden. Södertälje är en av Sveriges allra äldsta städer, och härstammar från vikingatiden. Södertälje fick sina stadsprivilegier år 1000.
