This documentation is transcluded from Template:Split file/doc.

Describe a split file, and link to the split parts.

Note that every effort should be made to keep files under the 100MB file size limit and avoid the need to split, by downsampling resolution, increasing compression, etc. Only where these measures aren't enough (because further loss of detail would reduce quality too much) should files be split.

Usage

{{Split file |1= |2= |1desc= |2desc= }}

Template currently allows up to 5 parts for a file, and can easily be modified if more parts required. Parameters follow the same format as for the first two parts.

Example: See File:President Obama Speaks to the Muslim World from Cairo, Egypt (part 1).ogv

2 File name of the second split part. Format: File:filename empty required
