While I can understand its importance, it's used by less then 500 userpages! I guess sockpuppetry isn't that Common! 08:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

These types of templates are usually added by posting {{subst:sockpuppet}} instead of {{sockpuppet}}. — 08:29, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Evidence link doesn't work[edit]

{{editprotected}} The evidence link doesn't work. It would appear that autotranslate isn't passing the evidence parameter properly. I'm not sure why not. Could someone look into this? —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 02:20, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Add Special:Log to the default evidence[edit]

If nobody objects, I’m going to replace the default “refer to contributions for evidence” with “refer to contributions and log for evidence” across all localizations. An example of Sockpuppets of Poundsdwayne shows that Special:Log provides much more clues on sock puppeteering than Special:Contribs. Here is no Wikipedia. Or IMHO “refer to logs and contribs for evidence” is even better. If Special:Log is non-empty, one can jump to Special:Contribs rather directly. For the reverse, the necessary link can be found only on the left navigation bar where it is not very prominent. Moreover, “contributions” is a misleading term inherited from the times there was no really MediaWiki; uploads are contributions too, esp. on Commons. The “contribs” contraction (which is used everywhere in uselang=en) will clarify that this is the list of edits only, not contributions of any other kind. Guanaco's changes[edit]

They actually make a lot of sense, seeing which sockpuppets 🎭 are the latest is a way better way of seeing how a user is sockpuppeteering than organising them alphabetically. --Donald Trung (Talk 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 22:45, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Except it doesn't actually do that. It sorts them by when the tagged page was last edited. Keeping the categories sorted by name makes it easier to spot patterns and to see if a given user is listed in a given category. It's also a generally bad idea to sort items by a property that isn't displayed. LX (talk, contribs) 09:43, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
