If any of my work is used (or remixed) outside of Wikipedia, don't forget to attribute it (Tom Lemmens) if the license requires it. Notifications when my files are used are welcome, but not required. When the license does not require it, attribution is still appreciated. If you want to utilise my relicensable work (CC-BY/Beerware) under a different license, feel free to contact me.
In the past I always licensed my files on Wikimedia Commons under the CC-BY-SA license, which I had "inherited" from the files I reused. The Copyfree initiative has convinced me through their arguments, and I now release most of my files which do not inherit through "Share Alike" under a dual license. CC-BY, which is an easily recognizable but somewhat problematic license, and Beerware, which is a less recognizable but truly Copyfree license. I care about attribution, not about other restrictions, and I think attribution is a fundamental courtesy regardless of copyright.
