Your VFC installation method is deprecated[edit]

Hello Küñall, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Congratulations, Dear license reviewer[edit]

If you use the helper scripts, you will find the links next to the search box (vector) or as single tabs (monobook). They are named license+ and license-.

Hi Küñall, thanks for your request for license reviewer status. The request has been closed as successful, and you've been added to the list of reviewers. You can now start reviewing files – please see Commons:License review and Commons:Flickr files if you haven't done so already. We also have a guide how to detect copyright violations. Potential backlogs include Flickr review, Picasa review, Panoramio review, and files from other sources. You can use one of the following scripts by adding one of the lines to your common.js:

importScript('User:ZooFari/licensereviewer.js'); // stable script for reviewing images from any kind of source OR
importScript('User:Rillke/LicenseReview.js'); // contains also user notification when review fails, auto blacklist-check and auto-thank you message for Flickr-reviews.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.freenode.net. You can also add {{user license reviewer}} to your user page if you wish. Thank you for your contributions on Commons! --Majora (talk) 23:25, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi @Patrick Rogel: All files produced by the Government of Chile, that have been uploaded to their website or shared on social media, are licensed under a CC license as you can see at {{CC-GobCL}}. In any other case, {{PD-Chile-doc}} applies. In this particular case, CC seems the one to go. --küñall (nütramyen) 22:02, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
I will remove the template. I hope you are fine with that. --küñall (nütramyen) 22:50, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

File:Talking System.jpg[edit]

Commons-emblem-issue.svg
File:Talking System.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Overwriting files[edit]

"major changes need to be uploaded under a different name (but anyway,it seems the photo will be deleted)"

They don't have to. From COM:OVERWRITE:

"If another editor thinks that a change is not an improvement (even if the editor making the change thinks it minor), the change can be reverted. Once a change has been reverted, the new image should be uploaded under a new filename (unless the reverting editor explicitly or implicitly agrees to the contested change). This is true even if the change is necessary, in one editor's view, to avoid a copyright infringement: in this case, if agreement cannot be reached through discussion, the old file should be nominated for deletion."

I overwrite with major changes all the time to avoid copyright infringements. (or in this case: infringement of personal rights) I find this very much preferable to uploading a new file because it preserves the file history. If I upload a new file when it is (nearly) certain the original will be deleted, we will just be left with a new file that links to a file that no longer exists for its source. The only reason for you to revert me would be if you disagree with me that the obscured version is better than the not-obscured version. If that is not the case, you don't have to revert me.

More importantly, any services that index the picture will generally only index the current version. People (possibly off-wiki, like blogs, tabloids, etc) will likely use the current version. Uploading as a new file will be of no help, but if her face is obscured in the current version the damage could be considerably reduced. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 00:07, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Your administrator status on the sco.wikipedia[edit]

Hello. A policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus in 2013. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.

You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on the wiki listed above. Since that wiki does not have its own rights review process, the global one applies.

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights.

If you wish to resign your rights, you can reply here or request removal of your rights on Meta.

If there is no response at all after approximately one month, stewards will proceed to remove your administrator and/or bureaucrat rights. In ambiguous cases, stewards will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact the stewards. Rschen7754 06:07, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your message, I have left a message on the Scots Wikipedia for them to decide if they wish me to remain an administrator or not. I'm fine with whatever they decide. Kind regards --küñall (nütramyen) 06:12, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
