iNaturalist open range map dataset

Download geopackage and convert to geojson

Downloaded the collection geopackage file you are interested in from iNaturalist, import it into QGIS (https://qgis.org/download/) and use the tool "Split Vector Layer" (Menu "Vector" > "Data Management Tools" > "Split Vector Layer"), selecting the output format as geojson.

Include source information

The geojson file should include more information regarding source, and licensing, for example. Files should include something like the following code, changing the species name, the dataset version, zoom level and latitude/longitude, as appropriate:
