More later[edit]

Hi Ɱ, I had trouble getting the files to open this morning but I am on a connection which could politely be called two tin cans and a string. I'll try to get them open when I get a solid connection after work! Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 15:20, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Ellin: Of course, feel free take your time.--ɱ (talk) 15:48, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I accidentally hit the wrong category button with Hot Cat ;-) I'd meant to move it to Cat:Ocimum basilicum as food (and have done so now) - MPF (talk) 23:45, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Welcome, Dear Filemover![edit]

Commons File mover.svg

Hi Ɱ, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please do not tag redirects as {{speedy}}. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Your VFC installation method is deprecated[edit]

Hello Ɱ, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Buildings in Hyde Park ...[edit]

Yeah, I noticed when I was doing the categorization that some of the categories were for groups of buildings. That said ... the FDR library (soon to hopefully be an NHL, as it was the first presidential library) is just one very large building, as is CIA (unless someone ever uploads pictures of the dorms or whatever those residences are to the north).

I should probably subcategorize it if possible to "Houses in ...", "Churches in ...", which would ameliorate that a little bit, perhaps. And we might also consider adding a "Visitor attractions in ...". Daniel Case (talk) 17:17, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

@Daniel Case: Well I have uploaded photos of several other buildings at the CIA. And the FDR site has the library building, a visitor center, and the mansions Springwood, Top Cottage, and Val-Kill (and more). These entities should definitely be categorized as historic properties and as a college in Hyde Park, not just as buildings. ɱ (talk) 17:24, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
Certainly they can be; I wouldn't consider that category to be exclusive to those other ones.

I must mildly correct you, though. The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site does not include the library, since that's under NARA jurisdiction, not the park service—see this map on the site's website and blow it up ... the library is on that parcel outside the site boundary, just to the south of the Springwood parking lot. The NPS may mention it on the site's website, as it's certainly easy to saunter over to the library after the Springwood tour, but it is not part of the Historic Site.

What could be included in a category for the NHS is Springwood, its dependencies and Top Cottage (under NPS jurisdiction as well). Daniel Case (talk) 18:05, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Photo[edit]

Hi there. Would you mind if I brighten this photo? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:50, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Hey thanks for asking. It shows up ok on my screens on full brightness, and tbh I think it more or less accurately depicts how dark it was that day, but feel free to experiment and replace w other versions sure. ɱ (talk) 17:19, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
I looked at the photo again and it's just fine. I always overbrighten photos anyway. I should fix my screen. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:42, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
