Must Read Note[edit]

I received a mail today that we have been mis communicated and every other wiki administrator has given us some wrong directions about the content I uploaded. You guys wasted so much of time despite of my appeal to show some patience. Before you randomly delete contents I request you read policies ,guidelines and then do the job.

Thanks Note[edit]

I would like to thank all the administrators, Editors & fellow friends who have contributed their part to improve the article. I am cleaning & re-organizing and redirecting discussion pages to make it easy for my other wiki friends.Time is money and I value your time.A note of thanks for your kindness and support. Yours Sincerely Rock

Important Appeal[edit]

Hi ! Thanks to all the administrators and wiki media friends out there who have contributed to the commons. This message is a common appeal to all those Administrators and freelance wiki editors & wiki users to kindly redirect any discussion page related to the content I uploaded to my User Talk:Astrangers heart page. I appeal it to you as it could save the valuable time of many people who are volunteering wikipedia. Redirecting would make discussion more productive and time saving to you and also to others.I also appeal you to reduce little of your aggressiveness in deleting the content. Everything takes its time and every one will have other works to focus on. Kindly understand any objections raised will be answered/corrected as it involves lots of efforts to co-ordinate with lots of other people & time to place the information together. Each Editor has his own perception and way of looking at things. I value all your concerns and I expect the same while you proceed to make any changes.Kindly acknowledge in my discussion pages before you delete any content. Care to keep/redirect the conversation in this discussion page as your concern is about the content I Uploaded. There are lot of users taking the conversation to their talk pages. Its all difficult to answer the same question in different pages. Any thing with respect to this article should be discussed & kept in this discussion page as it would be clear to other administrators/editors/contributors about questions asked.Save & Respect the time of fellow wikimedians. Thanks Understanding,Rock (talk) 15:33, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Files of Astrangers heart[edit]

Here are all files, uploaded by user Astrangers heart and not yet presented for deletion:

They are all photos about famous persons. Photos are all claimed own work, but they are small and have no metadata. I suspect copyright violation. Taivo (talk) 15:03, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

I have acquired pics from Gopichand Lagadapati who has worked in the said projects.I have recently forwarded a mail to wikimedia and 2013112610008934 is the processing ticket number. I ask every one to show some patience as everything takes it time. Thanks,Rock (talk) 1:13 ,28 Novemebr 2013 (UTC)
OTRS Wikimedia

Wikimedia has received an e-mail confirming that the copyright holder has approved publication under the terms mentioned on this page. This correspondence has been reviewed by an OTRS member and stored in our permission archive. The correspondence is available to trusted volunteers as ticket #2013112610008934.

If you have questions about the archived correspondence, please use the OTRS noticeboard. Ticket link: https://ticket.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketNumber=2013112610008934

.Thanks,Rock (talk) 2:08 ,3 December 2013 (UTC)

Deleted: The OTRS ticket is worthless. It is not from the copyright holder, but rather from our uploader. More important, it includes "free licensing and any misuse to sell the images or trying to make any kind of financial gains with the photographs will be subjected to legal actions." which is clearly not acceptable on Commons. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 22:07, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

I think probably you must have not gone through the mail completely. There is an attachment of identity proof of the copyright holder. So please take the statement back that "OTRS is worthless as its not from copyright holder." For 2nd point " free licensing and should not make any financial gains." If commons want to make images/content available under free licensing category and one agrees for it, its for free.Free thing is free thing. You can't make money out of something where the copyright holders are not trying to benefit.Let me give example. I make a doll and you put a clause that it should be made available free and i agreed and now you are trying to make money from it. It is unethical & ridiculous.Administrators should not be aggressive. While every other cared to put a message in the notification board you even did not bother to put message. (rock) (talk) 13:47, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

To your first point -- we do not accept OTRS messages that attach a message. The whole point of OTRS is to make it possible for the actual copyright holder to send us a license. That ensures the authenticity of the license.
To your second point. Perhaps you do not understand that Commons does not accept NC (Non-Commercial) licenses. We require that images be free for all use, including commercial use -- see COM:Licensing. The words you quoted above do not allow that. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 11:55, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
Well thanks for the reply. When i actually decided to put an end to the discussion about the objections raised to delete the media I uploaded I was directed to appeal to OTRS.I forwarded the whole email conversation where the subject gave his permission to use the content.Even in the OTRS mail I received there is disclaimer which is as follows " Disclaimer: all mail to this address is answered by volunteers, and responses are not to be considered an official statement of the Wikimedia Foundation. For official correspondence, please contact the Wikimedia Foundation by certified mail at the address listed on https://www.wikimediafoundation.org/". Now can you explain me whats the authenticity of all the administrators who are removing contents at free will. You have the magical wand and everything goes just like that. Because you raise the point License, Can you please enlighten me what again is this license. Is there any specific format or any kind of form to fill. What are the documents required while submitting the license. What according to you is the authenticity?
Point 2 --So point two ; You did your job so this has nothing to do with you. The policy is just ridiculous. So wiki policy is "You do all the hard work and make me and others rich" A Policy of bureaucrats. You as administrator should also try to understand there are lots of people in the administrators itself who don't have clear understanding for policies, so its obvious there is clear confusion to the newbies. I request you to continue this thread in my discussion page as your objections are about my media.I want you to co-operate to make it easy for other wiki administrators to make their decisions. I don't want any one to waste their time for the already discussed topic. I want people to move on and help me to move on to different subjects. Thanks, (rock) (talk to me) 19:22, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
Again, read COM:Licensing, which I also cited above. As for getting rich -- the problem is that there are very few actual uses of an image that are not commercial. The only two that I can think of are on a personal web site that does not carry advertising or in a school that does not charge for teaching. Anything else -- books, magazines, textbooks, schools with tuition, websites of businesses or charities that solicit money, websites that carry advertising -- are all commercial uses and prohibited for this image.
The required procedure for a license is described at Commons:OTRS. It must come directly from the copyright holder, not from you. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 14:00, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
Kindly pardon my ignorance, something is beyond my logic and commonsense .If I forward any mail it is obvious that the mail will contain the detail of sender and receiver. How would it make any difference with direct mails and what's the authenticity of the e-mail. I think a video of copy right holder saying himself that he don't have any objection would be better choice. I think you should consider discussing it in administrators page to save time. Time is money and wikipedia should learn new ways to save the times.. Thanks, bro I will ask him to forward the mail if it works for you.(rock) (talk to me) 20:43, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

This file was initially tagged by Lady Lotus as Copyvio (copyright) and the most recent rationale was: false claim to ownership Dschwen (talk) 03:13, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

I don't see evidence for this allegation. There are no google image results besides this pic. And there is File_talk:Gopichand_Lagadapati_with_Mischa_Barton.jpg. --Dschwen (talk) 03:17, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
You wont find any of the pics in Google image search other than from my account through which i have uploaded. Ask me details for which i would be ready to answer. On a personal note I won't and don't want to claim name on the works of others.I decided not to claim on one image poster from shortfilm " Death" as i lost contact & failed to contact its filmmakers. It was deleted.Rock (talk) 6:08pm, 24 November 2013
Every picture comes from this website [1] which makes me think false copyright. Lady Lotus (talk) 18:10, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
This comment (most of it can still be seen in the log entry at bottom) from the uploader is a bit concerning. His other uploads, including this one, may be iffy as well. INeverCry 03:13, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Does it come from that website? The caption on one of the pics points to "Wikipedia". Might as well be the other way around. Would not be the first time this happens. I checked the Wayback Machine, but that page is not stored. --Dschwen (talk) 05:09, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
I think the uploader here also placed the images on that site. His statement (linked above) that he "got a permission from Gopichand Lagadapati to use this pic" led me to recommend OTRS for confirmation. INeverCry 05:27, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Yea, I agree. This another case where the image should have been tagged with no permission rather than speedy. --Dschwen (talk) 17:25, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for taking your time folks. Thanks for keeping the pic.I would like to clarify to each of the concerns .Lady Lotus thought it must be copy right violation looking at some website. Probably you must not have noticed these websites are third party websites which rely on Wikipedia and IMDb.They pull the information from popular websites and keep them as archives. You will find information at the end of each article from where it has been gathered. The next question about requesting OTRS by INeverCry. I have forwarded the conversation of mail with copyright holder giving his permission to use content for free use and also there is an attachment of identity proof to avoid confusions. You should understand that my intentions are clear and I don't want to violate policies of Wikimedia. I just learned that the copyright holder himself should mail to the OTRS.If I forward a mail obviously it would have the email of senders & receivers in it, I don't understand how would it make any difference asking the copyright holder to send a separate mail.Ok he sends the mail.., now i want to know whats the authenticity of his mail or any mail on which OTRS members decides. If a copy of passport is not working as a proof of some ones identity then how can a mail be authentic. Some points discussed are beyond my commonsense.Kindly pardon my ignorance.Kindly enlighten me. Its a request to make use of my discussion page under discussion category to help fellow members save their time. Thanks, (talk) 20:27pm, 4 December 2013
