User talk:B. Huber
Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Thank you.

Your illustrations
[edit]Mr. Huber, in light of one of your images being taken through the deletion process, I wanted to express how much I like the illustrations you've done. They are outstanding, and add to the project immensely. Thank you for them. (I especially like File:X 15 2.jpg, though I need to do a translation.) — Huntster (t @ c) 03:41, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hello B. Huber, without question, your pictures are very good. However, I would like to draw your attention to something (yes PNG). JPEG is not a recommended format for this type of images, see Commons:File_types. I have no idea how you create the images. It would perhaps consider it to save in SVG (which is the most prefered format)? What do you think about all that? Greetings --Perhelion (talk) 21:30, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
MfG -- Perhelion (talk) 17:23, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:39, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Invitation
[edit]Hello! I've seen some of your drawings, and I thought you might be interested in joining the Commons:WikiProject Aviation, which has been started recently. Consider having a look to the project page and, if you want to join in, please add your name to the list of members and add the User WikiProject Aviation userbox to your user page. We're working on the creation of a WikiProject Aviation Graphic Lab in which your skills in aircraft profile and line drawing could be greatly helpful. Thanks a lot, and see you :-) --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 14:53, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Dear Mr Huber, thanks for joining the project. I realize you may not have much time left from your family, which is indeed much more important than Wikimedia projects :-) I don't have as much time as I would like either, just like everybody else, but don't worry. All your awesome drawings are greatly appreciated, and any contribution, even small ones, will be valued. In the meanwhile, thank you for your willingness.
- With friendly regards, --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 17:59, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
WikiProject Aviation now on Twitter
[edit]Hi, as mentioned here, Commons:WikiProject Aviation is now on Twitter. I will be using the feed to tweet photos from our now extensive repository of aviation imagery, and will also use it for outreach activities. If you have any suggestions on how to get the maximum use out of Twitter feel free to leave suggestions on the Aviation project talk page. You can follow the account at http://www.twitter.com/commonsaviation. Cheers, russavia (talk) 14:05, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called B. Huber. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name B. Huber~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Herr Huber, ich möchte Sie etwas über die Verwendung Ihrer Zeichnungen für eine Veröffentlichung fragen. Könnten Sie mir an diese Adresse schreiben? posta@zanica.com
Ich danke Ihnen vielmals
