I hope I can use these templates, and that using them here don't mess anything anywhere...
This page is for me a reminder of the different licenses and copyrights, so I (hope I) won't have new warnings about copyright violation :D

Non-free images can only be uploaded at Wikipedia. This page has a discussion of what images may be uploaded. At Wikipedia, to upload a non-free image you should click on the 'upload file' link and then be ready to give a non-free use rationale. If you have a problem, please ask help for an Admin there as I stopped uploading non-free images at Wikipedia some time ago since once they are removed from an article, they are deleted within 1 week. --Leoboudv

Public domain[edit]

{{PD-Art|PD-old-auto-1923}}

This is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
Public domain
This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published (or registered with the U.S. Copyright Office) before January 1, 1929.

Public domain works must be out of copyright in both the United States and in the source country of the work in order to be hosted on the Commons. If the work is not a U.S. work, the file must have an additional copyright tag indicating the copyright status in the source country.
Note: This tag should not be used for sound recordings.PD-1923Public domain in the United States//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:BarnCas/Reminder_Copyrights
The official position taken by the Wikimedia Foundation is that "faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are public domain".
This photographic reproduction is therefore also considered to be in the public domain in the United States. In other jurisdictions, re-use of this content may be restricted; see Reuse of PD-Art photographs for details.

{{PD-Pre1978}}

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1977, inclusive, without a copyright notice. For further explanation, see Commons:Hirtle chart as well as a detailed definition of "publication" for public art. Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (50 p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 p.m.a.), Mexico (100 p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.

Non-free[edit]

On en.wp[edit]

(The template {{Non-free poster}} taken from en.wp doesn't work well here :/ )

This image is of a poster, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher or the creator of the work depicted. It is believed that the use of scaled-down, low-resolution images of posters
  • to provide critical commentary on the film, event, etc. in question or of the poster itself, not solely for illustration
  • on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

qualifies as fair use (+ en.wp fair use) under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Non-free content for more information. Attention: To the uploader:

  1. This tag should only be used for posters.
  2. Please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
  3. Try using Template:Non-free use rationale poster to state the rationale.

To patrollers and administrators: If this image has an 'appropriate' rationale please append |image has rationale=yes as a parameter to the license template.
