Kongsvinger festning[edit]

Ters (talk) 18:37, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hei Ters, takk for tilbakemelding. Kjempeflott at du vil ta bilder! Ha en fortsatt riktig god påske. Mvh beagle84 (talk) 19:44, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Mvh beagle84 (talk) 20:29, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dato[edit]

Hei, det er fint om du angir dato som «2009-04-15» i stedet for «2009.04.15». Førstnevnte skrivemåte gjør at programvaren oversetter datoen automatisk, sammenlign f.eks. File:Pálmi Rafn Pálmason 03.jpg med ru:Файл:Pálmi_Rafn_Pálmason_03.jpg og ar:ملف:Pálmi_Rafn_Pálmason_03.jpg. Hilsen --Kjetil_r 07:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Antenning_av_propanbrann_på_Nidarø_(1984).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

LX (talk, contribs) 09:59, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you have since continued to upload a number of images with similar problems. Can you please hold until this matter has been sorted out? LX (talk, contribs) 10:15, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Since you seem insistent on not discussing the matter, I've asked for you to be blocked from editing until you are willing to change your approach. I'm sorry that it's come to that. If you stop what you're doing and start discussing, I'll be happy to withdraw the request. LX (talk, contribs) 14:25, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why do I need to stop based on only your opinion? There has been raised questions about some images from Trondheim byarkiv, but they are marked as Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0) and furthermore marked as Fra Trondheim Brannsvesens arkiv (From Trondheim fire department archives), which I regard as an authority or a public body of Norway. (ref Template:PD-NorwayGov). There have also been transfered similar images from this particular flickr account by many other users, but I can't find any warnings to them? Also note; From the time you've raised doubt over these images, I have gone to transfer images under Template:PD-Norway50. beagle84 (talk) 14:56, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You've uploaded a number of files which may end up getting deleted or which at best require a large amount of cleanup of the file descriptions. When you pile up the work for others instead of discussing what the best way to go about things, it becomes disruptive. You don't need to stop, but users who continue to upload problematic files at a fast rate without acknowledging messages from other contributors – even if their uploads are not obvious copyright violations – usually end up getting stopped. I don't understand why there's such a rush to upload these files before the question marks have been straightened out, and why you seem so averse to the idea of interacting with other contributors. Commons is collaborative project. I understand that you're an administrator on at least one Wikimedia project. In light of that, I would have expected you to take a more collaborative approach.
The notion that these files are problematic is not just a matter of my opinion. There is no explanation as to how files like File:Brakkebrann i Fossegrenda (1983).jpg, File:Brann i Bratsbergvegen (1984).jpg, File:Brann i Erling Skakkes gate Fire in Erling Skakke Street (1969).jpg or File:Brann i Klæbuveien 100 (1982).jpg (all uploaded after my original notice here) could be legitimately licensed under {{Cc-by-2.0}}. Only the legitimate copyright holder (which is usually the author – which means creator – photographer, in the case of photographs) of a work can issue a valid copyright license. The Creative Commons Attribution License requires attribution of the author. The Municipal Archives of Trondheim is not the author of the photograph. They don't know who the author is. Having a physical copy of the file does not make them the copyright holders, either.
The Municipal Archives of Trondheim may be a public body, but that does not mean that they have the right to issue copyright licenses in a manner that violates copyright law. Interestingly, on http://www.trondheimsbilder.no/, they take a very different stance with regards to copyright (even for photos whose copyright has clearly expired). It seems they don't really know their way around copyright law that well, and in all likelihood, they haven't realized that they've set their default license to CC-by on Flickr or what that means. I'm not sure what relevance you think {{PD-NorwayGov}} has to any of this. As far as I can see, you haven't tagged any of your uploads with this tag, nor does it apply to any of your uploads.
I haven't seen anyone else uploading any files from this Flickr account, which is why I haven't brought it up with them. Surely you're not suggesting I have to find every problematic file on Commons and deal with them before I deal with your problematic uploads? en:WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS.
I see that you have now started paying more attention to filling out the author field and that you appear to have begun limiting yourself to older photos. That's good. However, while it's not a problem for us to keep these older photos, tagging them with {{Cc-by-sa-2.0}} is incorrect (even though that is how they are tagged on Flickr). For files where the copyright has expired, you should not claim that they are protected by copyright (which {{Cc-by-sa-2.0}} does). Instead, you should use the correct PD tag, such as {{PD-Norway50}}, {{PD-old-70}} or {{PD-old-100}}.
Last but not least, thank you for responding at last. LX (talk, contribs) 18:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The length of the reply above is why I hesitate to answer section riders such as yourself. First of all, don't make up your own conclusions and then make them mine. You need to both read my reply and take a look at the images mentioned above once more (ref. your own statement «The Municipal Archives of Trondheim may be a public body, but that does not mean that they have the right to issue copyright licenses in a manner that violates copyright law») These pictures are marked Fra Trondheim Brannsvesens arkiv, which I regard as a authority or a public body of Norway. It's not Trondheim byarkiv that is as a public body, but their stated source Trondheim Brannsvesens arkiv. Therefore, your statement about «The Municipal Archives of Trondheim is not the author of the photograph. They don't know who the author is» is not correct. Secondly, I don't care about the rest of your reply since you couldn't keep it simpler (KISS). And please, don't lecture me about what you expect from others. Instead go argue for a permanent block of me instead.. Maybe you need to see things from perspective; 1. I've used the Flickr upload bot. 2. Transfered images marked with the license «cc-by-sa-2.0» (the flickr account is not mentioned in Commons:Questionable Flickr images). 3. Transfered images all marked with «Fra Trondheim Brannsvesens arkiv» (which I regard as a public body) 4. Observed that there have not been any reactions when other users have transfered from the same flickr account. beagle84 (talk) 20:16, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I couldn't make my reply shorter. There were just too many fallacies to address. Please do take the time to read it. You're obviously willing to spend time uploading files to Commons, so please spend the time to figure out how to do it properly. Regarding the Municipal Archives of Trondheim versus Trondheim Brannsvesens arkiv: neither of them is the author, and neither of them knows who the author is, so the point stands.
Here's the simple version: files from the Flickr account Trondheim Byarkiv contains files with incorrect licensing. Even if you use a bot to upload, you must evaluate the licensing on Flickr and check the resulting file descriptions. When someone tells you there's a problem with your uploads, don't ignore them. LX (talk, contribs) 08:03, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with your view, simple as that. But I will see opinions from others before I carry on. beagle84 (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Brann i Søndre gate 24 (2006).jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Brann i Søndre gate 24 (2006).jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

your uploads[edit]

Hi Beagle84, please do not omit to enter the correct author name into the description of your uploads, at least when the information is available on Flickr, as was the case in File:Elgesæterveien (ca. 1915).jpg. This information is absolutely critical in CC-BY-licensed images. The archive that may be in possession of photo prints is clearly not the author. --Túrelio (talk) 12:46, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Boeing 737-300 Norwegian Air Shuttle ACTA LN-KKY.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Category discussion warning

Nikolai Stokholm has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!
