Unblock request[edit]

Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason.

Request reason: "Reason given for block is not accurate. As far as I know, I have done nothing to warrant having my account blocked. Billmckern (talk) 00:27, 27 February 2015 (UTC)"
Decline reason: "The user is not blocked and has never been blocked. But if he uploads one more copyright violation, then he will be. Taivo (talk) 21:54, 28 February 2015 (UTC)"

Administrators: This template should be removed when the block has expired.

Taivo, I was blocked for two days, so don't tell me I've never been blocked. Besides, why would I ask to be unblocked if I hadn't been blocked? And I have not knowingly uploaded any copyright violations. I have had occasional discussions with other contributors and editors over whether something was copyrighted, and either resolved the question so the illustration remained on Wikimedia, or deferred to their judgment and had the image removed if the question couldn't be resolved satisfactorily. I don't appreciate the way I'm being treated and I don't appreciate the attitude. Does someone have me confused with a different contributor? Billmckern (talk) 23:08, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

I clicked "Block log" link in unblock request and the log is empty. I repeat: you have never been intentionally blocked. As Hedwig said to you, maybe you fell victim to some IP range block. What if that repeats third time – I don't know, but if your block log is empty, then there is nothing, what an administrator can do. You can apply to be IP range block exempt. For that, please read Commons:IP block exemption. I can give to you the IP exempt right even myself, but I have never done that before and as much as I understood from the policy, this is usually not done, if you are currently not blocked. Taivo Then why did you write "But if he uploads one more copyright violation, then he will be"? I haven't committed a copyright violation and I don't appreciate the accusation.

I looked here and here and found, that a lot of your uploads have been deleted due to copyright problems. Taivo (talk) 15:23, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
Taivo As I wrote previously, I have had occasional debates with other contributors and editors, and either resolved the question or deferred to their judgment -- even when I thought their judgment was wrong. But given the number of contributions, I don't think "a lot" of copyright problems is accurate. This is especially true given that the block was put on despite there having been no recent debates with other contributors or editors. I guess I'll have to be satisfied that the block is lifted now, and hope it doesn't happen again.
