Uploading images with watermarks[edit]

About this. See his other contributions, especially some watermarks in them. Thanks.--Fixertool (talk) 20:41, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Many pictures from this user are from the historical collection of Marie Stravlo, so maybe he has a permission for those pictures. I marked them, that they need permission. I nominated the other pictures, that seem to be copy vios, for speedy deletion.--CennoxX (talk) 21:21, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Image de Frédéric Souterelle[edit]

or else (I speak little English)

I protest, the image is not a violation of law as the photographer himself agreed and therefore permission to publish the photo as long as it is mentioned in the legend, and this is what was done.

This is also the French actor himself who sent me the photo for me to enroll on the wiki explaining what I just said above. --Skarock (talk) 09:33, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your answer here and sorry for the problems. The Image was published online before, so I thought it was copied from that source. If the photographer agreed to publish this photo, it can be restored. I will take care of that.--CennoxX (talk) 12:32, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

OTRS Jessica Mae Stover[edit]

Hello, I am suspicious about the pictures from User:Redwing2, here and at enwiki. The user uploaded pictures of Jessica Mae Stover, stating, he created them himself. All pictures are small, have no metadata and are from different places/situations and have different styles.

On the last picture in enwiki you added the OTRS, could you please check the permission, if that all is really okay? Thanks, --CennoxX (talk) 15:14, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

  • I've nominated the first one for deletion. For the others I have rechecked the OTRS ticket and it's OK. Stifle (talk) 17:28, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement[edit]

Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open![edit]

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on . Click here to learn more and vote »

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
