Wiki Loves Monuments in Namibia[edit]

Hello Chtrede, For Wiki Loves Monuments there will be a lot of work to do, it is short term, but I think if you go for it it is possible to still organize it. The most important parts of Wiki Loves Monuments are:

  1. create projectpage for national contest - ✓ Done: Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Namibia
  2. knowing what are the monuments in Namibia (before September) and having them in template tables on Wikipedia, with row template for each monument and a header template, and which each monument a unique Denkmal-nummer -> see [2] ✓ Done
  3. create an external website for the local contest (before September)
  4. form a jury to judge the uploaded pictures
  5. have prizes for the winning uploaders
  6. write a/several press release(s) to announce the start and let it be published in as much as media in Namibia as possible (end August and/or September)
  7. let jury pick winning pictures (before 31 October)
  8. organize prize giving ceremony and write press release about the ceremony and/or about the winning pictures

These are the most important steps needed for organizing Wiki Loves Monuments. We have an ideal timeline at Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2013/Timeline. It starts already in February, but most countries start much later. The ideal timeline describes much more optional things you can do as well but aren't absolutely necessary. For most countries, step 2 is the most hardest and biggest one, the others take much less time and are mostly much easier. You need to know what monuments there are in Namibia. In most countries the national government has assigned certain buildings as national monument. I noticed this page: de:Liste der National Monuments of Namibia, are all national monuments on this page? If yes: great! If no: how many do you (think you) miss? I hope my answer is helpful. If you have more questions, please ask! Romaine (talk) 16:38, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Let me know if you need local help. --Pgallert (talk) 07:24, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:EKT-Tuvalu.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.
