Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, ColdEel!

Hmmmmm...

~ bayo or talk 16:57, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, ColdEel!
Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

File:Dacie Burebista -60-44.png[edit]

Hello! I added more info to this map: File:Dacie Burebista -60-44.png and also copied the Italian version. Great map. Thanks for the effort. The map is very popular. I posted a few questions here and here. And you are welcomed to join WikiProject Dacia or maybe start a french version? ;-) Thanks and best regards. --Codrin.B (talk) 21:53, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Commons:WikiProject Dacia[edit]

Roman bust of a Dacian tarabostes, Hermitage, St Petersburg, Russia - 20070614.jpg
Hi! I created the Commons:WikiProject Dacia as a sister project to WP:DACIA English and WP:DACIA română to better organize, categorize and improve the quality of media and galleries related to ancient Dacia. From your contributions, I think you might be interested and maybe you wish to join and support the project. Your input is welcomed! Thanks and best regards!

... and happy holidays! --Codrin.B (talk) 23:43, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Merci for your beautiful map of ancient Rome; I'm going to use them in the italian wiki. mac (talk) 14:27, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi ColdEel, regarding the map [[1]] it seems we are both original creators, as I used your blank map to put in all the rest. I think this should be specified in the description of the file. Btw. my work was in German, and there you are still mentioned as the template creator. Regarding the Italian translation, I presume you did that, otherwise there must be a third creator to be credited.--Borsanova (talk) 15:24, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
