Update request[edit]

Can you update File:Daylight saving time in Asia.svg by coloring Iran in orange and remove Iran in File:Timezones2008G UTC+430.png, because on 21 September 2022, Iran abolished DST and will observe standard time year-round?

Source: Daylight Saving Time Ends in Iran. (21 September 2022).

Yours sincerely, 18:40, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello, I updated File:Daylight saving time in Asia.svg. However, File:Timezones2008G UTC+430.png is explicitely depicted "as of 2008", so I did not change that one. De728631 (talk) 18:45, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you very much for the update. 18:47, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello De728631! I thought that you might be interested to know that Safeguarding was confirmed by checkuser on enwiki as Liverpoolpics and the pattern appears to match the MO here. See en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Liverpoolpics. TheSandDoctor (talk) 12:20, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@TheSandDoctor: Thank you for notifying me. While that is not a checkuser confirmation over there, I found it compelling enough to block the account here, too. De728631 (talk) 15:01, 7 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Update request[edit]

Can you update File:Daylight saving time in Asia.svg, File:DST in the world (Detailed and labeled).png and File:Horario de verano (Fechas de cambio).png (and also remove Iran from the latter maps)? In October 2022, Syria and Jordan, abolished daylight saving time (DST) and will not change their clocks anymore.

Source: Syria and Jordan to Remain on Permanent DST. (5 October 2022).

Yours sincerely, 17:00, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Done. I updated the two files. De728631 (talk) 19:23, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you very much for the updates. Can you also update File:Daylight saving time in Asia.svg and File:Time Zones of the Middle East.svg (by coloring Syria and Jordan in light green in the latter map)?
Both Syria and Jordan will permanently stay at UTC+03:00 from October 2022 onwards.
Here is a Jordanian source:
Here are sources about Syria: (the Arabic links can be deciphered via a machine translator for confirmation) 10:09, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Someone else updated File:Time Zones of the Middle East.svg today and I adjusted File:Daylight saving time in Asia.svg. De728631 (talk) 17:40, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you very much for the update. 18:31, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

One last request and I will not bother you with requests for a very long time.

Can you also update Syria and Jordan in:

Yours sincerely, 12:59, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  •  Not done I'm sorry, but I'm not sure these maps are based on daylight saving time at all. Moreover, I don't have the correct coordinates of the Syrian borders for those maps to make any changes. De728631 (talk) 22:36, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I understand. Thank you for your reply. 09:50, 3 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

About Huawei Image Deletion[edit]

I was wondering if there would be any solution to the image? I say this because I'm not so sure at the moment if it can be claimed as a derivative work of an image that is not for free use. It's Huawei official, a free way to view Huawei and user-created themes officially for Huawei devices That's why I uploaded it, because I didn't see a problem, I thought it's even better since it doesn't have much information Can you explain me? Ezequiel 449 (talk) 18:32, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Remember that it is not a derivative work made by me, to clarify some doubts I put it that is from Huawei, as a format for theme design Ezequiel 449 (talk) 18:34, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Ezequiel 449: Well, it was a derivative of the software display. You are right though that you didn't create it in the first place. Anyhow, unless there is a free licence at the Huawei source page, which I couldn't find, such images are still copyrighted and non-free. De728631 (talk) 15:06, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

it is more precise to say that it is of a theme. It is not a derivative, it is official, it is unique. Ezequiel 449 (talk) 19:35, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

In the end it doesn't matter whether it is a derivative or an original image by Huawei. Unless they explicitly published it under a free licence, we cannot keep it here. De728631 (talk) 15:11, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
