Piha Identification[edit]

Hi DickDaniels, the photos you identify as Screaming Piha are actually Black-billed Thrush (Turdus ignobilis). The structure is wrong for the piha, as is the plumage (too much contrast between white chest and gray upperparts - the Piha is more uniform) and perch (I don't think a Piha would perch on a thin, leafy branch like that). Could you fix it?

Thanks for the ID correction. I have changed the description to Black-billed Thrush. But on further consideration, it does not appear to be a Black-billed Thrush either (hook at the end of the bill seems wrong). So I have asked the file to be deleted. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Unidentified North-American bird[edit]

Hi Dick! We saw this bird in a German nature documentary, but unfortunately the species of the bird wasn't mentioned (as it was about the they eat cicades). Do you know that one?
