E-mail to Sema (Art-Hanoi) concerning North-Vietnamese coins

I wrote Sema from Art-Hanoi.dotcom the following letters concerning my recent uploads:

"I am about to import the coins of South Vietnam, I've already imported the ones from North Virtnam and will insert them into the North Virtnamese Dong article soon."

Letter to Sema (from Art-Hanoi) updating him on the progress

"Update: I am done with every image of coins outside of the French Indochina section, if you wish to see them in use take a look at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khải_Định_Thông_Bảo for example, I will begin with Cambodia before moving into the more general French Indochinese coins, and I'm already done with French Cochinchina and French Tonkin. If you want to take a look at Vietnamese coins from various periods in history this is what I've been able to find so far: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Coins_of_Vietnam_by_period Again, thank you so much for providing this permission. 😉😊"

e-mail to Andrew West regarding Flying cash images on Wikimedia Commons

"Could you please check if this image:

Is an an accurate modern reproduction? I am not sure if your expertise extends into this field as you've never studied banknotes. I have actually been delving quite deeply into the history of Song Dynasty era Jiao,I, Guanzi, and Huizi and haven't found that much information. My largest issue is that most sources are written in Simplified Chinese, I can read Traditional Chinese characters but that's like making a puzzle with only half or ⅔ the pieces... You never get the full picture. What is your preferred method of studying? Well, as a linguist there are probably a lot less hurdles for you as you can more easily navigate unfamiliar lingual grounds.

P.S. (Post-Script) There's a user called Renevs who is a huge fan of yours and has every book you've ever written, though I personally don't like him maybe you would be interested in discussing Chinese history with him (he mostly specialises in the Yuan), he can be found here:

I'll be back next week

I might upload from the airports I am, but as I will be traveling with small children 🚸 this seems unlikely, any questions about my uploads or Art-Hanoi can be placed here and I will respond to them later.

“I have requested oversight through e-mailing User:Oversight citing how Berean Hunter and DoRD deliberately didn't remove the information that could link to my real life information but then DoRD handled the ticket (as he/she is an oversighter) and those revisions didn't get removed, can you otherwise do it? I don't want people to [redacted] over a signature.

“Do you process OTRS tickets on request? If so, could you quickly process Ticket#: 2018032110011865 and add the ticket to Category:Media contributed by Dr. Luke Shepherd Roberts (UCSB) and place the appropriate license on my talk page?

I don't have that much time to contribute to Wikimedia projects after the average waiting time for this ticket and might not be able to import everything later this year.

Yours faithfully, Donald”

Camera notice 📷

For the time being i am using my wife's BlackBerry to take pictures 📷, I am personally the person taking the pictures so these are "my own works", but I will not list my wife's BlackBerry under my "camera's" for the simply reason that this is a provisional measure and not a permanent solution. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (Talk 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 14:03, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

what's the quality on a BlackBerry? Artix Kreiger (talk) 14:10, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
It's moderate, good enough for illustrative purposes, but not good enough for any valued images... But non-standalone camera photographs rarely are, anyhow. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (Talk 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 14:23, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

"I see that you have written about coin hoards before and a website I often use to write about the history of cash coins in China has many articles about hoards in China such as :

http://primal- trek.com/blog/category/silk-road-coins/

And

http:// primaltrek.com/blog/2013/02/28/700-year-old-coin-pit-discovered-in-hunan-province/

And

http:// primaltrek.com/blog/2015/08/29/a-thousand-coins-discovered-at-cishi-pagoda/

As you are more familiar with Simplified Chinese characters you could probably also use the original articles from China if you're ever interested in writing about coin hoards.

I have attempted to contact the owner of this website to ask them to donate their images coins and charms to Wikimedia Commons, but with no response, but the texts on this website are quite usable too.

Any interest in writing about hoards like this?
