Bug of User:Deletion Notification Bot[edit]

Hi Eatcha, you bot removes messages posted by others: [1]. You should make sure that this cannot happen. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 09:38, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

@AFBorchert, I have made changes that would make the bot wait for atleast 5 minutes after the deletion. Thanks.-- Eatcha (talk) 12:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi Eatcha, well that would lessen the probability of vanishing messages due to edit conflicts. But I think it would be best if you could make sure that this does not happen. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 13:08, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
@AFBorchert It's hard to believe but I don't think this mess could have been avoided. The script grabs old text here and on this line the script is saving the page with the new-text. All of this is done in less than 5 seconds(worst network delays/problems), usually 1 or 2 seconds. I can't fix it and keep using pywikibot, faster read-write access is required. The diff you provided shows that both the edits were made at 09:13. More interesting fact is Mediawiki failed to raise Edit Conflict Error and instead accepted the bot's problematic edit.
TL;DR : I can't fix it. I've optimized the code, but still no guarantees. Sorry. -- Eatcha (talk) 17:01, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
