Hi edoderoo. This is Bengt Nyman talking about nominations for deletion of some of my images: Why Edoderoo ?? Other People have been uploading my images from my Flickr site (>250) to Wikimedia Commons for years. Why should my own uploading require a different license ?? Please explain yourself. ALSO: Please do not send me messages from an email address that do not accept answers !! Bengt Nyman

Hi, this file lacks an OTRS ticket number.    FDMS  4    13:41, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Fixed, this happens every once in a twenty images we process, most info is passed over automatically, but the ticket number. Thanks for letting me know! Edoderoo (talk) 14:10, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Two more:

Thanks,    FDMS  4    21:29, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Commons-emblem-issue.svg
File:Nasrdin-dchar-1360145485.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

ticket:2016122510005646[edit]

Hi Edoderoo... you apparently treated this ticket, but it is not in a Permissions queue - could you please move it as appropriate? Thank you, Storkk (talk) 09:14, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

The ticket is in the info-nl::wikiportret queue, where we handle (and usually keep) all our wikiportet-related images. In which queue would you prefer it, and for what reason? Edoderoo (talk) 09:23, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Commons OTRS agents have to be able to check the OTRS tickets for media on Commons regardless of which external queues they have permissions for, so it is my understanding that best practice involves moving tickets to Permissions-commons after they have been dealt with. For this specific image, could you please confirm that it was explicitly declared to be a self-portrait? Thanks, Storkk (talk) 09:35, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
We have thousands of images in this wikiportret-queue, and even if I move them to permissions-nl I'm afraid you still can not see the ticket(s). So if you believe this is an issue, you better have that discussion at a higher level in the hierarchie, as I do not believe we are going to manually move every ticket once it has been dealt with by the Dutch agents.
About the selfie. Yes, the user declared undoubedly that it is a selfie, altough it didn't look like one at first sight. It might be that the user is not telling us the truth, because the user wanted this image to be uploaded in order to replace another image he didn't like. But we didn't know this yet, when the image was uploaded, that turned out later on in the process. Right now the article has no image at all, because the same user kept deleting the image on the article "based on portrait right", although there ain't no portret right as such in The Netherlands that can prevent Wikipedia from displaying a decent photo. Edoderoo (talk) 09:59, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
This is now tangential, but any idea why they uploaded the photo in the first place, then? And why nlwiki is allowing a user to repeatedly remove an image from an article? Very strange.
At first they wanted another image, but their uploaded image was reverted because the other one was better according to the community. Now we have two images under a free license, and none of them are shown right now. But anyone can place them back, and at some moment that will be done, I expect. Edoderoo (talk) 12:38, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
With regards to the ultimate location of tickets for permissions of Commons-hosted media, this has been discussed many times in the past with regards to different queues. I don't want to step on your collective toes, though, and if it relates to thousands of tickets, this should indeed probably be discussed at a higher level, perhaps moving wikiportret from an info-nl subqueue to a permissions subqueue. I will start a discussion on OTRSwiki and ping you there. Storkk (talk) 12:32, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Good idea, thanks! Edoderoo (talk) 12:38, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

OTRS licenties, CC-BY-SA-4.0?[edit]

Beste Edo,

Alles kits?

Hansmuller (talk) 08:55, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Massair (talk • contribs) 09:33, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
Edoderoo (talk) 09:57, 29 September 2017 (UTC)

Foto Jolien Janzing[edit]

—Preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.211.139.112 (talk) 14:01, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Edoderoo (talk) 15:41, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Artworks by Maxim Sukharev[edit]

Could you handle the OTRS ticket:2018031210013951?

It is for the following files:

  • The Three Worlds (Heaven, Earth and humanity in-between) -- Maxim Sukharev.jpg
  • Creation of the Earth (Belobog and Chernobog) -- Maxim Sukharev.jpg
  • Day and Night (Belobog and Chernobog) -- Maxim Sukharev.jpg
  • By the Roads of the Year (Svetovid) -- Maxim Sukharev.jpg
  • The Seven Gods -- Maxim Sukharev.jpg

Also see the previous discussion.

The author has sent his permission to upload them on 13 May. I can't understand why the case has not yet been processed while others, more recent ones, are quickly processed.--Eckhardt Etheling (talk) 12:37, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

If you can, please also handle the ticket:2018042710011656. Thank you.--Eckhardt Etheling (talk) 12:42, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

PS: I asked the same intervention to user 0x010C. See here.--Eckhardt Etheling (talk) 15:30, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

It seems that the permission at OTRS is sufficient, but you need a sysop to restore the files, and I'm not a sysop at OTRS (the two times I applied for this it was denied, because the other sysops believed I was too inactive?). I can not handle this for you, so you'll need to get in touch with a user that is a sysop as well. Edoderoo (talk) 15:35, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Ok, thank you, I will ask an OTRS volunteer & sysop to restore the files. Could you check ticket:2018042710011656 and ticket:2018042710011549? These are already uploaded and do not need to be restored.--Eckhardt Etheling (talk) 17:15, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
The first one is missing some important past in the declaration: that the website is the holder of the full copyright, and/or photographer/creator of the images. Now it is not sure if the website just has a license to use the images, or if they made the pictures themselves, but for the release of the images this is always important. The best way to get a good declaration is to use the template on Commons:OTRS#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries, so we are also sure that the person releasing the rights on the images clearly understands what they are actually releasing. This will avoid discussions afterwards, when people 'suddenly' do not want others to edit the photo's, or that they are used in a commercial setting. The text in the link will make that all clear. The second ticket I read as I am the owner, although the text is actually multi-interpretable. For those few images I have put the ticket number to the images. Edoderoo (talk) 17:34, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
I think that the website (i.e., ССО СРВ) is the holder of the full copyright, not just of the license, as the entire website's content is under the copyright "ССО СРВ ©1997-2018 При использовании материала ссылка на сайт обязательна", trans. "When using the material, a link to the site is required"), and in any case the material author is a constituent member of ССО СРВ. In the original message I linked both the website on which the images would have been uploaded (Wikimedia Commons) and the license content (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) which is quite explicit. In any case, I will ask Anastasia (the website's administrator) to send a corroboration herself.--Eckhardt Etheling (talk) 19:24, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
