Use of JM Le Pen 22092007.jpg

[edit]

Hello! I did not notice there were restrictions on the picture. I used your picture of Jean Marie Le Pen in a presentation of my paper on the Rassemblement National in school. I hope thats fine.

Use of Carthage museum mosaic 1.jpg

[edit]

Dear Fabien, I would like to use your picture of the mosaic from Sidi Ghrib in an academic publication I am currently editing. It is an edited volume entitled "A Globalised Visual Culture? Towards a Geography of Late Antique Art", ed. by Fabio Guidetti and Katharina Meinecke, to be published by Oxbow Books (Oxford) in 2020, both in print and as an e-book. Of course the CC license will be mentioned, you will be credited, and a link to your website will be provided. Thank you so much! Fabio

Use of Carthage museum mosaic 1.jpg

[edit]

Hello! I would love to use your Woman at Her Toilet mosaic photo for an essay I am doing on Late Antique Society. I will also be presenting it on a poster board as part of the work I am visually doing for my essay. I hope it is ok for me to use as it is a fantastic piece of history and a wonderful photo. I will credit you and put a link for others to use. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 136.167.77.183 (talk) 04:30, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hercules Sarcophagus. jpg

[edit]

Just to let you know I am using your wonderful images of the sarcophagus of Hercules' labours for an album of the life of Hercules that is being displayed in Leeds City Museum, United Kingdom, this autumn. I will of course credit you and provide a link to your website. Thank you so much for these images!

Re: Tobacco drying iran.jpg

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that I'm using your beautiful tobacco drying image in an adult education course on modern Iran that I'm teaching in Chicago, USA. We're studying the 1890-92 Tobacco Protest in Iran, and though this is a modern picture, I thought it would be good for my students to see. I'll credit you and give my students a link to your website.

Hi Fabien, I am using your photo of the tobacco drying in Iran for a talk I'm giving on Iranian history. Hope that's ok? Great photos, many thanks! Cyrus

Re: Chemin_de_ronde_muraille_long.JPG

[edit]

Beautiful picture - I'm using it in my Social Studies course notes for a grade 7 class in Canada.

We also used it for our final project in an Asian Traditions college course (United States university). Our topic was about how art related to the depictions of the history of Chinese, Japanese and Indian traditions. Thank you, we'll be including your information in our credits!

Done. Sorry, I didn't realise it was protected. cheers --pfctdayelise (translate?) 13:29, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Iran bastan 28.jpg

[edit]

Bonjour,

Persepolis Images from Livius

[edit]

Hi Cool Cat,

I noticed you deleted Image:Persepolis terrace 4.jpg. I just wanted to tell you that you should stop deleting the images from livius in the Category:Persepolis because a permission was given from livius.org yo use their images on Wikipedia under GFDL License. I wasn't in charge of the mail permission, but I asked fr:User:Pentocelo and fr:User:Céréales Killer to add the OTRS on the images on Commons. Please wait a bit so it is done and we don't have to ask you to undelete the images. Cheers, Fabienkhan 17:22, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted it as per Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Persepolis terrace 4.jpg. In the light of that, I have restored it. I recommend you either bulk nominate all such images and mention the OTRS process (would stand out better) or mention it on the images individually. --Cat out 17:33, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compo-tapis.jpg

[edit]

¡Hola!

Sting 19:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Iran

[edit]

Hi Fabian,

I think it's better to put "Category:Cities of Iran" and "Category:Provinces of Iran" directry in "Category:Iran". See "Category:Canada" for example. When we have more pictures, we can have "category:Geography of Iran by province" as a subcategory of "category:Geography of Iran". Jahongard 21:44, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Re: Image: Chemin de ronde muraille long.jpg

I would like to include a copy of this photo in a scrapbook that I am making. I will include "photo by Fabien Dany, www.fabiendany.com in the immediate vacinity of the photo. This scrapbook is for an organization located in the USA called "OASIS", an organization for the older adult person. A group of members of this organization took a trip to China March 27 to April 11, 2008 and one of the places they visited was Beijing where they had the opportunity to visit that section of the Great Wall. This picture would be used to commemorate that portion of the trip. Only one copy of the picture will be used and the scrapbook is kept in the main office of OASIS where it is available for members to see.

This is such a great picture to include in the scrapbook for this trip. However, if you do not want me to use this picture for this purpose, please email me as soon as possible at dian16may at yahoo.com and I will not include the picture in the scrapbook.

Hopefully you will allow me to use the photo and I thank you in advance.

Peux-tu également rétablir Image:Konya archeological museum - Byzantine art 1.jpg, Image:Konya Ethnographical Museum - Carpet 3.jpg. Ou m'expliquer comment le faire ? (je ne sais pas faire). Fabienkhan (talk) 12:29, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fabienkhan (talk) 17:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Fabienkhan!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Safavid map

[edit]

Hello Fabienkhan. I think the map of the Safavid Empire is great! Thank you very much for your effort.

Link to the map:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_Safavid_persia.png

But I just want to add something; is it possible for you to correct the borders of the Safavid Empire during the reign of Shah Ismail? The western border is not correct; your map only includes the area up to Elazig, but it is known that the Empire included areas as far as to Sivas-Susehri and the eastern parts of Kayseri Province. Malatya, Kahramanmaras, Bayburt, Erzincan, Tunceli, Erzurum and Gümüshane were among the provinces taken over by Shah Ismail.

Look at following source (p.7, footnote):

"Diyarbakır, Cezire, Bitlis, Suran, Hısn-Keyf, Imadiye, Çemiskezek, Hizan, Sason, Palo, Çarpakçur, Egil, Sincar, Elok, Çermik, Hıza, Zerik, Siverek, Malatya, Urfa, Behisti, Ergani, Siirt, Harput, Divrigi ve Mardin"

http://www.sosyalarastirmalar.com/cilt2/sayi6pdf/dedeyev_bilal.pdf

I can also see, that you've forgotten to specify the Aq Qoyunlu and Qara Qoyunlu capitals. It says "Qara Qoyunlu" both places. But Diyarbakir was the capital of Aq Qoyunlu, while Tabriz was the capital of Qara Qoyunlu (and later the capital of Aq Qoyunlu) clan federation.

Photo Cheminade

[edit]

Hi,

Merci beaucoup,

File:Dariushhotel1.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Shepherds iran

[edit]

Fabien Dany,

I am using your picture Shepherds iran.jpg. for some lessons I am teaching on agriculture in various countries (I am a teacher in Australia). I have put 'This photo is by: Fabien Dany - www.fabiendany.com By Fabienkhan (personal picture) [CC-BY-SA-2.5 (www.creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5)], via Wikimedia Commons' next to the photo. I will assume that I can use the photo with that reference if I don't hear otherwise. It is a week and a half until I need to use the photo. Thank you so much!

Thanks for uploading File:Tehran iran 1947.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Re: Carthage statue 3

Hi, I'm doing an IB Latin IA assignment on representations of Dido, and your image "Carthage statue 3" (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Carthage_museum_statue_3.jpg) appears to be a really good source for this assignment. However, to use it I also need the location of the statue (museum, gallery etc), description and date (hopefully it is of the classical period instead of renaissance, neo-classical etc). Would you be able to add this to the description or something similar, so that I can use it? Thank you very much!

Using one of your images

[edit]

Hello, You asked people let you know when using an image. I am going to use an image. I worked your file File:Iran bastan - 12.jpg (mainly tried to bring out shape of instruments with levels tool). I resubmitted it as File:Elamite long-lutes.jpg. I tried to make sure I got all of the permissions and attribution from your original image. The file will be part of History of lute-family instruments. Thank you for putting it onto Wikipedia!Jacqke (talk) 23:14, 27 August 2018 (UTC) [reply]
