Just a curious question regarding heraldic standards for the French Wikipedia

What exactly is the meaning behind this requirement created by the French Wikipedians that most if not all coat of arms have gradients be applied to them? --Thegunkid (talk) 00:46, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

I would love to know. I personally hate the faux-3D effects. Fry1989 eh? 01:10, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
That is the main thing that what spurred my question is how aweful those gradients look. I figured you would know if anyone due to your little FR-1 thingy on your profile, and I didn't want to bother asking Zscout370 about it as I'm already annoying him with a debate between me and another Texan wikipedian over what is the proper way to orientate the star on a vertical Texan flag. --Thegunkid (talk) 02:00, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Awful they are, but the guys up on FR Wikipedia seem to love them. Fry1989 eh? 02:16, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
I am not annoyed when it comes to being asked about the Texas flag stuff; I am just really busy with university finals. But as for the gradients, the French users like them and there are a lot of policies in place now for the prevention of overwriting of files. I don't agree with the gradients too, but that is a discussion that has to take place elsewhere. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 21:44, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
I also hate 'em... SFriendly.gif -- AnonMoos (talk) 20:39, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Coat of Arms of Turkmenistan

Hello! You undid my version of the Coat of Arms of Turkmenistan. My file was created using CorelDRAW X6. Why is it not a true SVG format? --Roma pi (talk) 05:23, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

The horse is a photo, therefore it is not scalable and not an SVG graphic. Fry1989 eh? 05:29, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
SVG allows three types of graphic objects: vector graphics, raster graphics, and text. See: SVG#Using_specific_features_of_SVG. The real coat of arms of Turkmenistan includes the same horse photo, so it's a valuable use. --Roma pi (talk) 09:38, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
As far as I am aware, we try and avoid embedded rasters in our SVG files. I disagree that the use of a photographic horse is valuable enough, but if you think it is, and can get enough people to agree, that I'll leave it alone. Fry1989 eh? 20:51, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, I need not get enough people. I have official sources of using the photographiс horse on the real coat of arms (Law of the State Coat of Arms of Turkmenistan - Also you can see changing of the coat of arms here - --Roma pi (talk) 08:18, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Ah but you do. You wish to embed a raster graphic into an SVG file. You need consensus on that, and why it is necessary over a plure SVG graphic. Fry1989 eh? 20:12, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
The horse can be redone easily in SVG and I am trying to tackle that now. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 20:51, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, let's look if you can, Zscout370. My goal is a real coat of arms of Turkmenistan, not just looking like. Please inform me after doing that --Roma pi (talk) 04:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Leonid 2 beat me too it; I am not certain about the colors that he chose but I will not have my drawing software again until Wenesday US time (I am in the process of moving) or be able to look at Russian pages until then too. I think he did a good job. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 17:24, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Actually he did a previous version (although the site of a Turkmen embassy has it), but the present version you can see, for example, at: The difference is the horse has white spots on its 3 legs. --Roma pi (talk) 12:23, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Coat of Arms of Turkmenistan .svg
Colors of present version of Emblem (green, red, yellow, black, blue) are in the Regulations about the State Emblem of Turkmenistan on August 25, 2003, clause 3 (Russian text - and can be identified as RGB colors #28AE66, #CA3745, #FAAE29, #383739, #5689CA. Roma pi - Your links on sites with images of Emblem on 08:18, 5 May 2012 see above. Another vector image of the horse is not hard to make if it is really new version of the State Emblem of Turkmenistan. Leonid 2 (talk) 15:17, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

I uploaded the version of the Emblem of Turkmenistan with a new image of the horse (with white spots on its legs) as a new file. Both versions were in circulation and should be available for use. You can determine which version will be used in templates. Leonid 2 (talk) 09:38, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

I moved your newest version to the main file; we will use that for templates. Thank you very much for fixing this image. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 15:33, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
I have to question the colours. Should they not match the flag? Fry1989 eh? 19:12, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, but the colors of the flag are determined in technical specification that I have not been able to find yet. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 19:58, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your work, Leonid 2. About colors, they should match the flag:

... --Roma pi (talk) 05:22, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

There is also which is a regulation on the National Flag. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 15:44, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Then the colours need to go back to the way they were? Fry1989 eh? 21:17, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

FDJ flag

As for sources, you may have a look here: After that: Type in the letters "FDJ Flagge" in Google (pictures) and see. User:Fornax

That link is hardly an official source, unlike the postage stamps issued by the German Democratic Republic. Still not convinced. Fry1989 eh? 05:51, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
How about ? User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 07:21, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Honestly, other than the stamp, I have not seen any other flag depicted with the FDJ letters in white at all. While I agree that a commercial maker should not be used as the main source for the image, just looking in Google Books and in some photos from the Bundesarchiv show golden letters. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 08:12, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
I reverted last night back to gold letters (servers are slooooooow) based on the fact there are period-flags with gold letters. I do not regret however changing it to white, based on the stamps, they're just as valid a source as anything else. Fry1989 eh? 22:07, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Either I would upload the white lettered version as a separate file or just link the stamp in "Other versions." User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 23:25, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

You vs. Paulbe (roundels)

This goes back to the old, old issue that galleries are supposed to be where an organized display of carefully-selected images takes place (not categories). Technically, your categorizations are in violation of COM:OVERCAT... AnonMoos (talk) 20:39, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Whatever. The category is "Roundels", that means all roundels. Just because there is a "by-country" subcat does not mean that the roundels should all be removed from Category:Roundels. The category had all roundels in it (nearly 400 of them), until Paulbe used Cat-a-lot and HotCat to remove all the ones that have a "by-country" subcat.. I didn't make the category subjective and choicest in any manner, but infact inclusive of all, so your claim is rediculous. Fry1989 eh? 22:20, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
You haven't done on "Category:Roundels" all the things you used to do on "Category:Nordic cross flags", and I wasn't accusing you of it. However, the basic syndrome is somewhat the same (trying to make a category serve the functions of a gallery), and it's really not "ridiculous" to state that the categorizations are a violation of the letter of COM:OVERCAT, but rather a simple sober statement of plain facts...
You know, to try to keep your current system in place, you have to edit and continually watch hundreds of image pages, but if you had a Roundels gallery page, then you would only have to edit and watch over that one page (because changes to individual image pages wouldn't change anything about how images are displayed in the gallery). Think about it. AnonMoos (talk) 01:10, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
There is already a gallery on roundels. The problem here is that the category:Roundels does not have any subcats like "two-colour roundels" or anything like that which you can break them down into, except "Roundels by country". There used to be almost 400 roundels in the category before Paulbe started removing them. Whether my alphabetical sorting practice was in place or not, they shouldn't have been removed. I also have to create several "Roundels of X" categories for a few that don't exist yet. I'm working on it as we speak. Fry1989 eh? 01:55, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, that took me about 4 hours yesterday, but it's done. Fry1989 eh? 04:57, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

Tajikistan roundel.svg

Can I see a source for this? The elements of the roundel seemingly disprove it on its own since Tajikistan hasn't used the Arabic script in nearly a century, and the attempt to readopt it failed in the mid 90s. --Thegunkid (talk) 04:19, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

There are various web sources for it, such as Flagspot and Roundels of the World, but none of them are solid since it's hard to find photos of Takikistan's air force. I've seen one photo from a far distance which definitely has a green star with a red border on the tail, but the photo was too poor to tell if there were any letters in it. That's all I know. Fry1989 eh? 04:28, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Could you remove the arabic script? --Thegunkid (talk) 04:44, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
I can, but I'm not sure if we should without a definitive source saying one way or the other. Fry1989 eh? 04:47, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't see the point of a definitive source when the country at hand uses a completely different script.

That aside, Do you have the $50 USD/CAD this source is demanding for the full size image of this Tajik Air Force helicopter taken in 2011? Since the preview resolution is too small for me to determine what color the star is. --Thegunkid (talk) 05:07, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Clicking on your link, it says "the page can not be found". Even if it was there though, I'm certainly not paying for sources. Fry1989 eh? 05:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I broke the link. But at best I can make out the center of the Star is bare. --Thegunkid (talk) 05:37, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

I can't find the marking, but honestly I can't see most of the lower part of the helicopter because of the stupid watermark. In any case, I'll fix it tomorrow. Fry1989 eh? 05:39, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Oh I see it now, it's right above the I. Still too small to really say either way, but I'll remove the characters tomorrow until we find a pic saying otherwise. Fry1989 eh? 05:41, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

That star appears red on my screen, looks like a Russian Air forceMi-8 carrying the Tajk. flag. (which doesn’t make much sense). I don't think any more changes should made until we have a definitive Photo/source. Jetijones (talk) 16:21, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

The star is definitely not red, and it has a white outline, but the rest is too hard to see because of the watermark. In any case, if does prove that Tajikistan uses a star as it's roundel. Fry1989 eh? 21:15, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

By the way, the Arabic characters are slightly bizarre, since they don't cursively join the way they're normally supposed to. They actually write "T.J.K.", but not the word "Tajik"... AnonMoos (talk) 11:51, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

Monogram of Princess Diana

I see that you changed the crown on the monogram of Princess Diana, citing a talk page request. When I created these monograms, I tried to use a Sodacan crown (without the cap and arches) that closely mimicked those on the original monograms on [Diana's stationery,] and the monograms of [William and Harry], as well as others, often using the basic framework of only one specific Sodacan crown, whether in actuality or in reference. It was my wish to not just copy the original source completely, and to also give credit to Sodacan for his contributions to the Wiki projects. As you have no doubt seen from my talk page, I have people up in arms that I am using the wrong crowns.

I'm in the process of going through all of my monograms, cleaning them up and making corrections where appropriate, and I'm currently on those of the United Kingdom. Within the next several days, I hope to have at least the monograms of the current members of the British royal family cleaned up, and citing the appropriate crowns--or possibly none at all. In the mean time, let's hold off on making any other changes. The current crown on Diana's monogram contains an arch, which does not conform to monograms in use by any of the current British princes or princesses that I know of. Camilla's will be corrected as well. Thanks, --Glasshouse (talk) 01:26, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

The request is on my Wiki-EN talkpage. I haven't done Harry or William's, but if you wanna take over, that's ok with me. I'm actually curious about Diana's, because while she was married to Charles, her coat of arms had the Prince Of Wales coronet, but when they divorced, her coat of arms changed to have a different royal crown. It would make sense to me that Diana's monogram changed along with it. Fry1989 eh? 01:39, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

If you Google "Princess Diana Letters" you'll see that the monogram on her personal stationery, even on letters before her divorce, only has the coronet without arches. The dual monogram with Prince Charles, contains the crown and arch of the heir to the throne.--Glasshouse (talk) 23:22, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Smaller Wikipediae

I noticed on one of the smaller wikis (I think wo.wikipedia) you uploaded the Commons copy of the South African coat of arms over the local copy. If the filename is the same, all you need to do is leave it alone, let me know and I can delete it. I am a global sysop so I am trying to get a lot of the arms/flag images pointing to the Commons. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:28, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Alrighty, I didn't know if you were global or not, but I had to do it to about half a dozen smaller local wikis with a local copy of the South African arms with the same name as our Commons file. From now on if I see them I'll send them your way. Fry1989 eh? 05:37, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I have been global since 2010, but I have not put any userboxes up until just now on the Commons (and 2 weeks ago on en.wp). There is a tool that I remember from the past that checks this stuff, but not sure where it is and if it is up. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:42, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
It was part of my wider process to make sure every wikipedia country article has the flag and coat of arms of that country on it. The other day I was doing South Africa, and as I was going through them all, there were some with the SA arms that didn't look like our Commons file but had the same name. Since I didn't know any sysops on those Wikis, I just uploaded our Commons one over so they were all to snuff. A tool to check for that would be awesome. Fry1989 eh? 05:51, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I remember there was one I used a few years back and that was before the global usage tool. It was from the toolserv but not sure if it was taken down or not. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 06:23, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Problematic heraldic standard Part 2

I do not see any response or relevant source:

Problematic prime-minister's standard (Archive I)

This non-existent "heraldic standard" must be deleted.

Greetings, Bulgarian Herald (talk) 20:44, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I would not say erase, but make it to where it says the status is disputed. The flag exists, at least, as a variant to the national flag if you see at and the source for that flag is a 2000 French Navy book. Could there be some kind of law about Bulgarian Maritime flags we could see or perhaps at least know about? User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 23:57, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Excuse me, but I can't agree. First, this picture is not a relevant source, and second, it does not represent an official heraldic standard of Bulgarian institutions. The Law on the State Seal and National Flag of the Republic of Bulgaria explicitly states the following:

Art. 17. The national flag of the Republic of Bulgaria shall be placed in the front part to the right of the transport vehicles and on the front mast of the navigation vessels when present there are the president of the Republic, the vice-president, the chairman of the National Assembly or the prime minister.

I continue to hope that you will comply with the Bulgarian legislation. Bulgarian Herald (talk) 00:44, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

IDK about the prime minister's flag, but I have actually seen a picture (long ago) of the presidential flag. As for the PM's flag, there is no solid proof it exists, and in the case of both the PM and President's flags, there is no solid proof they do not exist. Fry1989 eh? 01:26, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Let's start with the original cause of the problem. You have created an image of an official flag, not having any relevant official sources for it. You're the one who must prove the existence of this flag, but not me. I have cited the law that determines these issues in Bulgaria and it explicitly states what flag should be placed on the buildings and vehicles of the Bulgarian President and Prime Minister - the national flag. According to the text of this law there are no specific heraldic standards of the President and Prime Minister, such flags are not mentioned in the law. You could look at the pictures of Bulgarian national flag from the website of the Bulgarian President, shot inside the building of the Presidency:

Press conference hall.

Hall for official ceremonies.

Foyer of the presidency.

Hall for official talks.

There are hundreds of similar official images on this site, but there is no specific presidential heraldic standard on them. Bulgarian Herald (talk) 03:02, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

I don't care if you believe me or not. I said I saw one, and I did. I have no purpose to lie. Also, it's not a heraldic standard, it's simply the flag with the coat of arms on it. As I said, the flags are sourced, and there is no solid proof they do not exist, but at the same time, there's no solid proof the PM's flag does exist. Fry1989 eh? 03:22, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Excuse me, but your personal impressions based solely on personal recollections, are no valid source in Wikipedia. Bulgarian Herald (talk) 09:15, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Fry here (and there are flags with the coat of arms on it) and I would rather be sure before we get rid of the image. Deletions here affect a lot of projects and while we know the national flag is used on vehicles, but there is what we just don't know for sure. Even if we move the file and say "File name (Album 2000).svg" that is something that is factual (that a publication of the French Government stated this ensign existed, but the validity of that statement is under review). I am thinking a new "Album" should be out in a few years (and I know the guy who is running this) and I can honestly tell the both of you that a lot of research is being done and corrections are being made. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 03:29, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Pardon me, but what is this mysterious 2000 French Navy book? You must provide specific information about date and place of publication, author, content, and possibly link to it, if it is available online. This is the normal and accepted way of citing sources. I cite my sources and give links to them. Moreover, my sources are the most relevant on the issue, they belong to the Bulgarian institutions themselves. It is too weird Bulgarian official sources to be denied on the base of personal memories and unnamed publications made by... the French Navy. Greetings, Bulgarian Herald (talk) 09:15, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
The book in question is and it is not available online, but I can ask people who own this book to see what they have on that flag (for scans I can try and look at and link). I don't have a lot of my flag sources with me right now at university, so I get some time, I can get home and see what I actually got. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 14:10, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Plus, with the SVG files, they can be modified. There are flags with the coat of arms at the top hoist and me and Fry have images for both. So, at most, the files would be renamed and moved (and kept on the Commons). User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 14:34, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I suppose that renaming of these files in a way that will show clearly the lack of official sources for their relevance would be a good solution. Their names should not leave any doubt that these are undoubtedly existing official symbols. Greetings, Bulgarian Herald (talk) 14:49, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
The only thing I don't agree with is deleting, everything else I am good with. what I am thinking is putting the name (conjecture) or (disputed) or (uncertain) in the file name since there are pages and sources besides us saying it is the prime minister flag (I seen photos of the presidential flag used) but have not been verified by state law/code. I still think even if there is no prime minister flag, the SVG file could be changed to where the stripes are made even since I have found variant flags that use the coat of arms in the white stripe (similar to PR Bulgaria). User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 15:52, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure that either one of us has much right to reproach him for uploading images that may never be used in a Wikipedia article; the real problem is that he uploads a lot of ultra-nationalist stuff, in some cases ultra-nationalist stuff that he apparently personally makes up himself. I tried to give him a gentle hint at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag-map of the Soviet Union (de facto, 1961-1989).svg, but I'm not sure it did any good... AnonMoos (talk) 22:39, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

  • Sorry for the delay in consideration :) Now I'm understood. D5A (talk) 16:12, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Dmitriy-5-Averin: I don't want to be too constantly criticizing, but virulent Greater Germany irredentists would almost certainly not use the Black-Red-Gold flag, which makes it dubious what that image represents, other than seeming to accuse Germans of having secret plans to destroy Poland or something. It's not obvious how an image which raises many sensitive issues but does not have a very clear meaning can be useful... AnonMoos (talk) 23:42, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with a "Greater Germany" map, when you look at it in the context of including all the other irredentist maps in that category. My problem is all these maps that will never be used, and in many cases are obscure. When I joined the flag map project, I created ones that will be used, that includes countries with their current national flag, first-level subdivisions like provinces and states, and a few historical flag maps like the Soviet Union, where neccesary. But then there are ones like File:Flag-map of Byelorussian SSR (1919-1937).svg, or File:Flag-map of Albania (Naval Ensign).svg. Who is ever going to use that? Why do we need it? It's getting completely out of hand. Fry1989 eh? 00:15, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
1. As for the flag-maps (naval ensign) agree, they should be removed. Such as a Flag-map of Byelorussian SSR (1919-1937). Svg, and others do not agree, they can be used.
2. Yes, I agree, you do Fry Flag-map of modern countries, but the problem is that you do not want other parties to upload new versions of your work.
P. S. AnonMoos, correct to write not Dmitriy-5-Averin, correct to write Dmitry-5-Averin.
D5A (talk) 07:47, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
That's not true. I just don't want people to upload new versions that change it to incorrect colours, or blow up the file size, or that fiddle with exact borders, which aren't neccesary. Fry1989 eh? 19:35, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Samoa flags

I think this will be fairly simple, but if you can do the top two flags at it would be awesome. You can use as a template. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 02:35, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

I will do them shortly. Fry1989 eh? 02:40, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

I been trying to find a lot of flag images on wikis that have few/no admins so we can redraw them, replace those and reduce the images on those wikis. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 14:13, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

CIE Colors was how I got the Belarusian colors. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:31, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Well, I'm not quite as sofisticated at getting them ;) I just downloaded the Belarussian Emblem into my Inkscape, took your latest version of the Belarussian flag, copied and pasted it into the Inkscape window, and used FILL to make them match. I don't understand however why you reverted from my latest version back to the other one. The only real difference is the first one had gradients on the ribbons, and the map outline of Belarus doesn't directly sit over of the rays of the sun. I actually thought it was better. Fry1989 eh? 05:56, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I used my edit to the colors also to make a change in an element in the sun. If you notice in the past, there used to be a white disc between the sun and the Earth. Well, it is now gone and that was restored in the last edits (before I reverted). User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 08:10, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't see it. I do think the rays and the outline are better in the previous version. Fry1989 eh? 21:03, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Hmm...let me see if I can point it out with an image. But what I am getting at is look between the sun and the globe when looking at it via transparency. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 21:10, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Looking at both versions blown up, the sun and the globe touch on both. Maybe I'm not looking at the right place? Fry1989 eh? 21:13, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Crap, wrong spot! It is the sun and the rays (notice the gap between both. As for the map outline, I seen it mostly without a white border (I am trying to get an official drawing still, and I found a book I want to get really bad.) User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:34, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
Ah I see. Yeah, on your version, the ring between the sun and it's rays is uniform, while on the other one it's narrower and the top and gets wider outwards. But the rays themselves are better on my version, they're uniform while on yours some of them touch at their point of origin, maybe we could combine the two files? As for the map outline sitting directly on top of the rays, or the rays splitting so they don't touch the green outline, that's a tough call without an official drawing as you are seeking. Fry1989 eh? 05:46, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
You can take my version and align the rays; when I did them eons ago I just made it look somewhat decent. But I need to see how big the ring between the rays and the sun is, but I can try and cook up something in a few days. As for what I have for the arms image; I have a book from Belarus and a letter from President Lukashenko's Office (from 2002) and both do not show a white outline around the map. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:50, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
Looks like I'm not gonna be able to do that. The two versions are different sizes, I'm no good at scaling to match. Fry1989 eh? 06:17, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
I'll figure it out sooner or later. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 16:20, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

I know that you and I have been arguing between one another over this deletion discussion, and that discussion has been heated, but I just wanted to take this opportunity (overdue) to say that, notwithstanding our disagreement on this one issue, I hope that we can work collaboratively on other things, and nothing in that deletion discussion has affected my views towards you personally or my positive views of your contributions to Commons. Cheers. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 19:41, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Checnya Map

Can you make a version of that has the Ichkeria flag instead of the current flag? User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 05:50, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

I certainly can :) Fry1989 eh? 19:46, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Sweet. Like with that barnstar above, I am also trying to fix the smaller wikis of duplicates. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 19:51, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
It's done. Yeah, I just manually universally replaced File:Thai Garuda emblem.svg with Sodacan's new better version File:Garuda Emblem of Thailand.svg. He does amazing work. I've actually been working very slowly on making sure every wikipedia has the national flag and coat of arms on it, using Commons:National Insignia as my base. Many different language wikipedias have an inferior version or a raster, and some don't even the flag or coat of arms on the country article at all! I'm working backwards up the alphabet, so for I've gotten from Z back to Togo. It takes many hours just to do one country, but I enjoy it, though honestly after 3 hours of clicking around it's like "oh god, make it stop!" ;). Fry1989 eh? 20:01, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Time to Parley

Flag of Peace (Proposal).PNG The way ahead Parley flag
Hi, I have given you reason to be wary of my opinons in our initial interactions over people needing to be blocked for attacking you, I could have handled it better, sorry :-). I think we can actually work together. I think we sometimes talk past each other, not quite understanding the reasons for each others views. I'm sure we disagree about some things, but can work out a middle path that will satisfy our concerns. What say you ? Tony Wills (talk) 11:19, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
You were telling me I was wrong on AN/U from the very start on things you were mistaken about. That, I could put up with, but then you started following me around like a shadow and saying "no" to all my DRs for reasons that really don't have any effect, and that's why I'm hostile. Nobody has to agree with me, but I don't like being treated the way I have been, and I don't like people looking for problems in my history assuming they're there because you think I'm wrong about current issues. If you want to start over and work collegially, I am perfectly open to that, but you have to assume some good faith in my work here. Fry1989 eh? 21:56, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
There are certainly things we disagree about, and we will no doubt discuss further :-). To be fair, I have not followed you around and said "no" to all your deletion requests. Given the large number of requests, I have actually commented on very few, and even agreed with you on a couple :-). As I said before I am really not looking for fault with you, but searched all the deletion requests to see why we disagreed on what DR are accepted. What I finally realised is that it comes down to interpretations of why thing are actually deleted. I see a DR that succeeds and understand the rationale for that result differently from you - ie we think it was successful for different reasons :-).
Yes, looking at your en:wiki page, and your work here, and your interaction with most people I have no doubt that that your contributions are in good faith, I don't think that I have ever said otherwise. I hope that you can see mine in the same light :-)
I ask that you look again at my actions and comments and consider that I may possibly have a valid point, and accept that I am not just looking for faults or to trying to score points against you etc. --Tony Wills (talk) 00:55, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
As I said, I'm open to a fresh start. I don't like fighting with people here, and I don't make it personal unless they do first. It just felt very aggressive and that's an instant turnoff for me. Fry1989 eh? 01:20, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Ok, that's agreed.

I thought it was pretty obvious :/ Fry1989 eh? 17:09, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

The Army National Guard Seal.

The current version of the Army National Guard Seal, File:US Army National Guard Insignia.svg, is unofficial and incorrect. The U.S. Army Institute Of Heraldry has only one authorized and official seal for the Army National Guard.

The device was authorized by NGR 750-58 for use in marking material. It was authorized as the seal for the Army National Guard on 28 August 1989.

Description Centered on a light blue disc edged red, a representation of the Minute Man Statute by Daniel French in bronze detailed black facing to the right, all enclosed by a blue border bearing the words ARMY NATIONAL GUARD at the top and five stars below all in white.

The version with the edged gold is incorrect.

I have corrected it, but trying to replace an SVG with a raster was not the way to go. Next time, ask someone to correct an SVG file if you are unable to. Fry1989 eh? 21:34, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

File:Tajikistan roundel.svg

Fry there may be a problem with the Tajikistan roundel, I found this ...I thought Mi-17 (helicopter) might have been a Russian bird, but then I noticed the Tajikistan Flag right over the engine cowling (in the top front). Anyways the star roundel on that aircraft is red. So maybe so more verifcation could be done before we confirm this as correct. BTW thanx for the lic. tag on the Colombian Naval Low Viz file. Jetijones (talk) 04:46, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

IDK, the other one clearly had a green. I'm annoyed by Tajikistan because so far we only have two pics and they're both low-res so it's hard to see things. Fry1989 eh? 19:25, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
I'll be honest I couldn't tell in the pic you provided, if the star was green, red, black, or purple it was just to grainy. I think we need to sit tight , and wait for a better pic to come along. Jetijones (talk) 19:41, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
I just wish we had more pics. With all of these central Asian former soviet republics, pics are hard to come by, but Tajikistan is a particular annoyance. Fry1989 eh? 02:36, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Category:Coats of arms of municipalities of Venezuela

Hi, I've been tidying up Category:Coats of arms of municipalities of Venezuela for overcategorisation, but in doing so I've become increasingly concerned that a lot (maybe even most) of the files in it and its subcats are not original work and may be copyvios. I've tagged a couple that seemed obvious, but if you could find the time to have a look through the category and let me know what you think, I'd appreciate it. cheers, Rd232 (talk) 17:40, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

New Images Uploaded

I'm bugging you again. I've recently uploade new images of the Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Württemberg and the Steel Crown of Romania. How would I add the box on the file pages of their non-svg counterparts, such as is on this page, which gives notice that "File xxxx.svg is a vector version of this file," and "it should be used in place of this raster image when superior?" Or, is that not a decision that I would make? I reference a couple of versions of the Steel Crown of Romania and several versions of the Coat of Arms of Württemberg.

As always, thanks for your help.--Glasshouse (talk) 18:55, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Just add {vva|XXX} to the non-SVG file, with the SVG file name in place of the three Xs, like you see here Fry1989 eh? 19:00, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

i dont understand yor message about de image called escudo_dominicano_ correcto.svg . the file called coat of arms of the dominican republic is a fake and incorrect representation of the dominican coat of arms. im dominican. and the dominican constitution says that the lower ribbon has his tips up.

Take another look at File:Coat of arms of the Dominican Republic.svg, your version has been uploaded over. Fry1989 eh? 20:57, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

User:PaD downloaded the original image escudo dominicano correcto.svg and he uploaded the image with a diferent name as( coat of arms of the dominican republic.svg. i worked very hard drawing that image an now he puts his name as the author of the image!!! NOT FAIR

The file information can be changed to mark you as the new author. Files are updated here all the time, you don't need to upload it as another file, you can just upload over the existing file. Fry1989 eh? 21:04, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

how can i change the file information? im the author of the image

I want my name listed as the author of the fixed and correct coat of arms, because I am the true author. I have more work of acient dominican coats of arms but now I have fear of uploadding them. I have fear that user: PavelID steal the moral rights that I have on my own work. im the author of the SVG reproduction of the correct and fixed shield. the only thing I want is being recognized as the author.

I will correct it for you. Fry1989 eh? 17:26, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Here in the dominican republic the incorrect dominican coat of arms of user:PaD has become, unfortunatley, very popular. the dominican commission of national affairs (comision permanente de efemerides patrias in spanish) has criticized very hard the use of the incorrect coat of arms of user:PaD and they ar trying to get rid of it from goverment publicity, oficial documents and media.. knowing the problem here in the dominican republic, i decided to draw a new and correct one my self.

PLEASE i dont kinow how to update files an change the information PLEASE I BEG YOU. --Cheposo (talk) 17:33, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

California Flag - Vertical

Hey Fry,

Thanks for helping with the California Flag page. However, the proper display of the flag vertically does not reverse it. The U.S. Flag does this, but no state that I know of reverses the flag - they just rotate it. The Flags Over California document ( has the vertical display on page 27. Anyway, I don't want this to turn into a Wiki-War. :) We are on the same side and I'm really glad you are part of Wikipedia. I went ahead and reverted the image. Have a great day. DevinCook (talk) 21:53, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Unless you have an actual state source that it is not flipped, then we have to expect it to follow the flag code. I've been to all sorts of places in the US where people improperly display the US flag vertically, it's not something widely understood by people who aren't flag experts, they jst rotate the flag to the right and think it's fine. Please provide a state government source, or the red star must be in the upper left corner. Fry1989 eh? 21:57, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
If it helps, it is displayed this way in the State Capitol in Sacramento. Though, I haven't been there for a while. I e-mailed the head of the California Flag Museum, and he sent me some information - and verified the rotate approach. The U.S. Flag is quite unique in this regard. The guide comes from the Adjutant General Office which compiles the laws and protocols for the flag. This is specified in Code 439 "The Adjutant General shall by regulation, prescribe rules regarding the times, places, and manner in which the State Flag may be displayed. He shall periodically compile the laws and regulations regarding the State Flag. Copies of the compilation shall be printed and made available to the public at cost by the Department of General Services.” As a result, this guide is statutory. Hello fry,Its me again!!! need Help!!!

Hey fry, some time ago i uploaded the embem of the dominican navy. i wonder if you can erase it. the drawing is my own work. i would like to rease it because in the name of the file im doing self promotion. and the emblem is not correct.(i was an amamteur when i uploaded the file.) I have a New a better version of the emblem of the dominican republic.

Would you erase it?

PS: do i have to put The name of the File in english? is obliged?

What file is it, can you give me a link to it? I can rename the file for you instead of deleting it. Also you're not required to name your files in English, it's just the most common language used. Fry1989 eh? 18:06, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

how I can change the name of a file? --Cheposo (talk) 00:37, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Only Administrators and some users who are given the File Mover right can rename a file. I have the File Mover right, and will happily rename any of your files for you, just tell me what file, and what you want the new name to be. Fry1989 eh? 00:39, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

The name of the file is: Emblema de la Marina de Guerra Dominicana.svg . the New name i want for the file is ´´Emblema de la Marina de Guerra Dominicana´´ in spanish of course. the coats of arms in the emblemis not correct i have drawed again the file with the correct coat of amrs.

Flag of Suriname

I uploaded a new version of the flag of the republic of Suriname with the star redrawn in conformity with the official description of the flag[2] and the colours in conformity with the corporate design guidelines of the republic of Suriname[3]. You reverted my upload twice without giving any reason. It seems that you do not understand the official documents of the republic of Suriname which are in the Dutch language.

If you don't understand Dutch and you don't have any knowledge of the subject, please do not change anything. --Bouwe Brouwer (talk) 17:51, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Actually my problem's with you. Fry1989 eh? 20:51, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Is my conclusion correct that you don't have any knowledge of the topic? And that you are not able to understand the documents in the Dutch language on the website of the Surinamese government? And that you don't have any reason to revert my actions? --Bouwe Brouwer (talk) 12:52, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

I have several reasons to revert you, leave of all those colours are positively hideous. Fry1989 eh? 18:54, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

It is clear that you don't have knowledge of the star and the colours of the flag of Suriname and that you aren't able to understand the governement documents about the flag which are in the Dutch language. It is also clear that you didn't have a legitimate reason to revert my correction of the colour and the star. I don't want to play a game of editwarring with you. Can I be sure that when I upload the version with the official colours and the official shape of the star, you don't revert it? Or do you think that it is better that I ask for administrator assistance? --Bouwe Brouwer (talk) 13:17, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Oh piss off about what I am able to understand and not understand. I don't have time for you if you're gonna speak to me like that. Your colours are absolutely atrocious and unrealistic, that is a perfectly valid reason, whether you like it or not. Fry1989 eh? 19:45, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Fry need help!!

how I can see how many articles I created? haw a can see the number my contributions ? --Cheposo (talk) 18:15, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Here on Commons, you can click "My Contributions" at the top of the page. That will take you to a page that shows the 50 most recent edits you have made. If you scroll all the way down, there should be a link that says "edit count". If you click on that, it will give you a count. The same will work on English Wikipedia, and I think on the Spanish Wikipedia too, but in Spanish. To see all the articles you have created, you also need to click on "My Contributions" and scroll to the bottom of the page. Instead of clicking "edit count", click on "articles created", and it will give you a list of those. It will probably take a few minutes to load, it's slow. Fry1989 eh? 19:59, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

File:Naval Ensign of Russia.svg

Why did you change? Flag should be slightly darker[4] Compare with the color of flag of Russia[5]. Blue color is the same --Sasha Krotov (talk) 03:26, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

  • History of the adoption of the flag of the Navy[6] "Не менее категоричным было настойчивое требование председателя Геральдической службы Г.В.Вилинбахова заменить в описаниях флагов голубой цвет на синий (традиционно используемый на полотнищах флагов судов вспомогательного флота). Пришлось комиссии сослаться на описание Государственного флага в Конституции РФ, где указано, что цвет средней полосы – лазоревый. А это слово во всех словарях истолковывается как «лазурный», то есть «голубой» или «светло-синий». "

from which it follows that the first version of the colors of the flag (sky blue - File:Russian. Naval flag 1992.svg) was taken from the flag of Russia 1991 (File:Flag of Russia 1991-1993.svg "лазоревый"). Later than the color of the flag was changed from sky blue to blue. --Sasha Krotov (talk) 03:52, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Not appropriate to upload over then nominate as duplicate

For something like File:School_sign_US.svg it isn't really appropriate to upload an image over the existing image, and then to consider it as a duplicate for another image where you have loaded over the top AND then request that a file be speedy deleted. If you think that a file is a duplicate or a lesser copy, yet is not that close, then please utilise the standard deletion request process, not the speedy delete process.  — billinghurst sDrewth 15:02, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Oh go away, you're acting like I did it maliciously, it was a simply jump in the mind. Last week I was fixing the various US warning signs, I didn't even realize there was two of the same one. It wasn't till last night that I noticed, and then did the dupe tag (which is different from speedy). Learn to assume good faith in other users. Fry1989 eh? 19:24, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
{{Duplicate}} is clearly a speedy tag, it is exactly what happens to the file. Also have another similar example at File:Right lane ends.svg. We need to pay attention to the detail.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:32, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
You wanna talk about detail? Let's talk about how File:Merge sign.svg and File:MUTCD W4-1.svg are the same sign. There's absolutely no need for two of it. Same with all the other ones I added a dupe tag to. If you're going to be ignorant and interfere with a completely uncontroversial edit, I'll simply nominate them for deletion. They're going either way, we don't need two fo the same thing. Fry1989 eh? 17:42, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Sure. The reason I gave is in the history and is "(not exact duplicate; angle of arc differs)". So any request would be appropriate by normal DR.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:12, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
You also care to explain why you merged and redirected MUTCD W3-3.svg to Signal Ahead symbol sign.svg? It should have been the other way around, with the proper MUTCD designation, like 99% of all the other files in that category. Fry1989 eh? 17:52, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
The expected process is to maintain the original/eldest file, and especially where it is already linked to files. Re your suggested name, I doubt that it is particularly helpful file name (see Commons:File naming). Please be mindful of jargon titles. I usually merge contents of the {{information)) tags.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:12, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
Not when it's at the cost of consensus and common practice. Commons also has rules for common names of a set of similar images, you should know about that too. The file should have it's proper MUTCD name, just like every other (99%) file in there. You did the opposite on purpose, there's no way I accept that you just did it because the one with the useless name was older.. Fry1989 eh? 18:26, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Commons:Undeletion requests/Current requests#File:Flag-map of the Kingdom of England.svg

Hi Fry1989, hope you're well. AnonMoos just started an undeletion discussion regarding my closure of Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag-map of the Kingdom of England.svg. Thought you might be interested. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 22:01, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

change these files or don't interfere with the crown whithout giving other reasons that "I don't think so" Kathisma (talk) 03:27, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

YOU'RE THE ONE interfering with someone else's files. People are free to revert your change if they disagree and I did so. Too bad for you, loose the pissy attitude. Fry1989 eh?
Actual king and queen monograms on the monarchy site and reproduced by user:glasshouse clearely shows an ogival and not this bulbous crown. You gave no reason. I gave sources (16 consistent files using glasshouse crown rather than yours + 2 other using a simpler ogival crown). You still don't have given one or the other. You are the one with the pissy attitude. Such agressive attitude should be blocked by admins. Kathisma (talk) 20:37, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
You're the one one with the pissy attitude because you're the one who came to my talk page and started off with commanding me to change the files or to not interfere, when you are on the one interfering with someone else's file. The rules are clear, any change you make to someone else's file can be reverted immediately, and I chose to do so. The crown file is specifically from File:Greater coat of arms of Sweden.svg and it is supposed to be consistent with that file. If you want the crown different, you are supposed to upload it separately as a different file. Revert again and I'll report you to an administrator, I have no patience today. Fry1989 eh? 20:54, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
how much file are using it ? less than a dozen. how much external sources show it ? none. No reason, no source, once again. I, on the contrary have given official reasons and sources. You just defend something you personnally find better, and your history shows it's not the first time. You've even already been block for acting like that. I'm not starting an edit war, you does not deserve this attention. You can still report me, I'm pretty convinced you are going to be blocked once again. You have no patience, I don't have either with such arrogant and immature people as you. Kathisma (talk) 21:09, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
The crown is Adelbrect's file, he wanted it that way. You're the one with a serious problem and who is immature. You obviously don't understand the rules here, so I'll repeat them. If you edit someone else's file, that can be reverted without cause, by anyone. If that happens, you're either supposed to discuss the change, or upload your differences separately as another file. You did neither, instead you reverted twice, and then came to my talk page, and ordered me to either "change it back" or get out of your way and "not interfere". I don't respond well to commands, and that's why I didn't respond well to you. So too bad, if you don't wanna do things properly, this is what happens. Good bye, don't come back unless you loose the attitude. Fry1989 eh? 21:23, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Since I was asked on my talk page to participate in this discussion, I will. I did not create a heraldic crown of Sweden; Adelbrecht had already done so, and he did a beautiful job. What I created was a full color crown for my use with the older Swedish monograms that I upload, one which conforms more closely in shape with the monochrome crown used on their contemporary monograms. This is the sole purpose for my creating that crown. With a few notable exceptions, there are no hard and fast rules of crown usage on monograms as there are in the world of heraldry, and they should absolutely not be used as a measuring stick for anything heraldicly related. Since I do very little in regard to heraldic work, I will leave the establishment of the heraldic crown standards to the guys who are heraldic artists. The only other crowns that I’ve created were done so because no other svg version of them existed.

I would never alter anyone else’s work without their approval and I certainly hope everyone else would pay me the same courtesy. It doesn’t look like Adelbrecht was even given that option. However, I WAS asked to comment, so I will: File:Heraldic Royal Crown of Sweden.svg belongs to Adelbrect and it should be his to change if he wishes. I do not want my work to be uploaded over his file.--Glasshouse (talk) 00:43, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

File:Znak D-48.svg

Hey! What's your source for changed colors? I've made it using colors from the law act. I haven't heard about chage of it, so why did you recolored it? If it's not from law documents, please revert it. Thanks for border change, it was my fault indeed. Krzysiu (talk) 23:14, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Observation of actual Polish road signs. Feel free to change if back if you don't think it's right. Fry1989 eh? 01:15, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
Excuse me, but you've made a hoax and you are the one who have to do it. I won't clean your "observations" and even in real life they haven't such color. Krzysiu (talk) 20:14, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I've done nothing of the sort, and yes they do. Fry1989 eh? 01:47, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

I think, I made you angry about those monograms. I really didn't mean to make you or the others angry. I just said my opinion like the others and also I have franchise, like you and again, like the others. There was no reason to tell me Who the hell do you think you are? Keivan.f (talk) 11:57, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Who the hell do you think you are? was a specific response to you saying "If the user does this and this, I'll agree to keep them". That decision is not up to you, and you can't force the other user to alter his files just so you'll agree that they are kept. The monograms are sourced, that's all that matters and of course they're gonna stay, whether you agree with minute details or not. Fry1989 eh? 18:00, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
I didn't want to force anyone and I don't want, because all of the users can do what they want. OK? And I think the problems are solved, aren't they? Keivan.fTalk 20:33, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Files renamed

Hi Fry1989. I just wanted to say that I moved these requests yesterday, which is why this wasn't needed I think. Trijnsteltalk 19:02, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

I think some things got missed because Commons Delinker didn't move them on Wikipedia. There's a bug up there that when files are renamed, they don't show up properly, and I can't do it manually at the moment cause I'm blocked for a while. Fry1989 eh? 19:06, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Strange then. Well, it's processed again by CommonsDelinker, so maybe it's solved soon. Let's hope so. Trijnsteltalk 19:19, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Me too, if not I'll do it manually eventually. Fry1989 eh? 19:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

File rename

Hi, you requested a rename of File:Signal Ahead symbol sign.svg. However the name already exists. Please pick a different name. Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 09:18, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

No it doesn't, I explained in my request text already that there used to be two files, one called File:Signal Ahead symbol sign.svg and one called File:MUTCD W3-3.svg. They were duplicates and were merged into a single file by Billinghurst, but he chose the wrong name on purpose just to irk me, and now he wont fix his mistake. There's a redirect problem that he caused, so even though I have file mover rights, I can't correct it, I specifically said that the rename requires and admin to fix it. Fry1989 eh? 19:57, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Serbia flag-map

Hello,I was going to ask you if you can do another Serbia flag map with the new flag and CoA but with Kosovo like the one you did without??? Drax90 (talk) 19:56, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Sure, it will just take a little while, but I should have it done within an hour or so. Fry1989 eh? 21:03, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Puerto Rico

I´ll see it, there are different variants but they are really similar. You asked me for the reverse of the Texas seal a long time before. I'm sorry for being really late, but I've really busy with the different sections of the country. I've done it with other notable examples of Spanish heraldry overseas. Thank you Regards--Heralder (talk) 03:51, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, re: the flag

Just wanted to say thanks for uploading the (mostly) corrected version of the CARICOM flag on the old file of Flag of CARICOM.svg. I found it so difficult to use Inkscape I resorted to using a vectorizing program to convert the correct image from bitmap into SVG and then posting it as File:Flag of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).svg when I found I couldn't overwrite the Flag of CARICOM.svg file. Once the light blue in the upper half of the flag (in the Flag of CARICOM.svg file) is matched to the correct shade as seen on the CARICOM website and on the file I uploaded then I will go through the process of undoing all the changes I made (which shouldn't take more than a few minutes). Thanks again! Caryb (talk) 18:56, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

There're the seals you asked me for. I´m sorry there aren't the Governor variants, I had a problem with the letters, I coudn't know the typography for the female variants. I think too many variants could create confusion among the users. Other reason is the time, there are a lot of variants and I need time for the Spanish regents, provinces and capitals coats of arms. I think the most important (except the governor female variant) are done. If you don't speak Spanish, be careful in Spanish is "Sello de la Gobernadora de Puerto Rico" there're are male and female articles.

Puerto Rico

It was a long time before you asked me for the Reverse of the Seal of Texas. I know it's really late for it, I couldn't assure you that because the Historical arms and the Armed Forces emblems took me a lot of time. There are the notable examples of the US Spanish heraldry presence.

You may be interested in the heraldry of the Americas, there are colonial arms I done at Commons here:

Thank you Regards--Heralder (talk) 00:48, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Doing unnecessary stuff

Regard File:Coat of Arms of Kirovohrad Oblast.svg: I'm tired of having to endure your incorrigibility, and again until someone has to intervene to third knock you over the knuckles. Please stop it I've rarely met a person like you and by this statement I am not alone. You seems not to disturb anything, on the contrary, it makes you fun people to bully with unnecessary stuff. -- πϵρήλιο 03:37, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

If you think that I'm gonna stand by an be personally attacked by you, when that was absolutely uncalled for, and just back off because you again attack me a second time and then give me a "final warning", you are sorely mistaken. You have absolutely no clue what I do here when you accuse me of always "putting my opinions above official sources". If you really encountered me anywhere near as much as you think, I'm always changing things to match official sources, all the time I use sources, and the few times I don't, I still have a good reasoning when I change something. I'm the one who has had to endure now TWO unsolicited personal attacks and name calling by you. If you wanna report me, go ahead, but you better be prepared to answer for your actions as well. Fry1989 eh? 18:29, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Your requests to delete valid files

I have noticed that you had requested the deletion of some files, for example Commons:Deletion requests/File:Eisenhower Interstate System.png, basing on there is a vector version available. The project scope is providing a media file repository to make available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content to all and acts as a common repository for the various projects of the Wikimedia Foundation. Using SVG files helps on rendering sometimes, therefor existing the {{Vector version available}} template, which is just an indication to people use the SVG for that reason. But, it isn't a reason to delete a file that is available on a different format. The file above has a valid source and a valid license according the licensing policy, so there is no reason for deletion of the file. For example, how can you compare, for educational purposes, the difference between SVG files and PNG files, if you delete PNG files? If that happens, then educational valuable files will be lost. Blond (talk) 19:18, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

We don't need two of the same thing, or inferior files when a better one is available. I will nominate files where I feel it's valid to delete them, if you don't like it, you can make your argument for it to be kept on the DR page. Fry1989 eh? 19:21, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Category:State military crests of the United States

I'm considering working on some additional items for this category; however, they are more correctly identified as "Army National Guard" or just "National Guard" crests, rather than state military crests. Since you have already submitted files for this category, would you mind if I put a name change request to have their names more correctly identified? I'd like to have the category's name follow suit as well. Thanks.--Glasshouse (talk) 20:11, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Go ahead. Fry1989 eh? 23:12, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Dear Fray1989, could you make a SVG flag-map of West European states (single file)? DIano (talk) 15:23, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Sure, just let me know which countries you want (how far west). I'm assuming you want the EU flag? Fry1989 eh? 20:02, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello dear Fray1989. Thank you for agreeing, but I mean something different: I would like you to do the flag map of Western Europe following the example of the (File:A map of the Arab World with flags.svg). DIano (talk) 06:40, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh I see what you mean. I would love to do that, but I don't really know how ot do them all and put them together like that. I would suggest asking User:The Egyptian Liberal since he made the one of the Arab region. I'm sorry, I would if I knew how. Fry1989 eh? 22:54, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Okay, then can you do flagmaps State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, West Ukrainian People's Republica, Republic of German-Austria, Republic of China (before 1939) and map of Romania with flag of the Romani people? DIano (talk) 15:07, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
I'll certainly work on those for you. Fry1989 eh? 19:13, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
I have made two of your maps at File:Flag map of the Republic of China (First Republic).svg and File:Flag map of Romania (Roma people).svg. Unfortunately, I wont be able to make the other two, as there isn't the SVG maps I need to make them. I'm sorry about that. Fry1989 eh? 03:29, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Fry i need help

a dominican user named ´´Soyescritor´´ changed the name of the spanish article of the dominican navy from ´´Marina de Guerra Dominicana´´ to ´´Armada Dominicana´´. and that is very incorrect!! Please i beg you, please change the name to Marina de Guerra Dominicana Again on the spanish wikipedia.

Dominican Senate suggested changing the name of the Dominican navy from ´´Marina de Guerra Dominicana´´ to ´´Armada Dominicana´´ but the bill passed in the Senate only. The proposed name change was approved only in the Senate. this proposal was very criticized on the Dominican Media. The name change has not been approved by both houses of Congress and that could cause confusion in users because the website of the Navy continues showing the name ´´Marina de Guerra Dominicana´´

Please fry i beg you i summon your wikipedia power!!!!!

I can not move articles myself on the Spanish Wikipedia, but you should be able to yourself. On the English Wikipedia for most articles, there is a "move" tab at the very top. Unless the article is protected on Spanish Wikipedia, you will be able to reverse the change by clicking on it and typing in the new name you want, including back to the old name. Fry1989 eh? 02:59, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

I agree

Yes I agree that it was lazy of you to change colours without also making sure that you kept the proportions. Maybe if you'd written descriptive edit comments or used the file talk page a lot of that re-uploading could have been prevented. Anyhow happy it's all sorted now. /Lokal_Profil 02:58, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

No, I'm saying it was lazy of you and Roede to revert a file's proportions AND colours, when the proportions were the only issue. You should have maintained the colours of the latest file in your revert. I corrected that. Fry1989 eh? 15:31, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
