These documents are not your own work, see COM:DW. Most of them should be OK, but proper license and information needed. You have one week to fix that, after which they may be deleted. Please ask if you need help. Regards, Yann (talk) 16:18, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello Huddyhuddy,

Can you help with this and File:1940 issued visa by consul Sugihara in Lithuania.jpg. Can you tell us the nationality of the passport owner. -- Geagea (talk) 07:22, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi Geagea,

Yes, the holder was Czech and used his Czechoslovakian passport, issued to him in 1938. He managed to escape to Poland in 1939 and from there to Lithuanian. In 1940 he received the Visa from Sugihara, using it to travel via Siberia to China.

--Huddyhuddy (talk) 07:26, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

It was hepfull. Thanks. -- Geagea (talk) 12:24, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello,

The images come from my personal collection of over 20 years. I have a collection of WW2 related documents and passports. The hobby started due to our family connection to the Holocaust. What should I supply in order to prove the items are in my hands?

Thank you. --Huddyhuddy (talk) 07:39, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

License templates for your uploads[edit]

Neil, Thanks for sharing your collection, I also scanned and uploaded several WWII documents (see Category:Scans by Jarek Tuszynski). However you will need to start paying attention to the license templates and if you want your files to be found by others you will also need to start adding categories. I added license templates and categories to several of your files (1, 2, 3, etc.). For licenses many of your uploads fall under {{PD-text}} or {{Anonymous-EU}}, some might fall under Category:PD-EUGov license tags licenses, some {{PD-signature}}, etc. None should be under CC license or without any license templates as that would suggest you created the document. You might also find Commons:Copyright rules by territory useful. You should look through your uploads and correct the licenses the best you can. For Categories you should at least find for each file the best subcategory of Category:Identity documents by country. Also when you leave message for me or other people, click "Add topic" link on top of the page to place the message in the right place otherwise it is hard to find. Please let me know it I can help you more and thanks for sharing. --Jarekt (talk) 04:33, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jarekt,

Thanks for the reply.
That's looks very complicated 8( all them licenses, how does one change them?
Many many thanks for the reply,
--Huddyhuddy (talk) 06:23, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
Yes it is complicated and all of us that have been around Commons for a while know much more than they want to about copyright laws. You seem to pick particularly tricky area, since each document is from a different country and might have different potentially copyrighted elements: writing, coats of arms, signatures, ID photographs, etc. Most people start with their own photographs of non copyrighted objects (where they can use CC licenses) or set of photographs that follow a single PD license. You can change a license by clicking "Edit source" and typing "{{PD-text}}" in the wiki-text description. --Jarekt (talk) 13:36, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi again, Well, true, all the items I have collected come from many places and countries: many Jews arrived in British Mandate or after the forming of Israel and brought with them documents & passports from all over. The issue of placing the right license keeps getting more and more complicated 8( --Huddyhuddy (talk) 15:39, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
