About my image Yun Family and the deletion request[edit]

According to South Korean Copyright law, if 50 years have past since one image's publication (that is an image that was published prior to 1960 would be in the public domain) the image is in the public domain. The website clearly states that this photo was published in 1952. Why is this NOT in the South Korean public domain? -Daffy123-

No, after maker die 50 years. But, this photo isn't maker die 50 years. Therefore, NO public domain. --Idh0854 (talk) 13:57, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

The Copyright[edit]

According to PD-South Korean copyright tag, all copyrighted works enter the public domain....50 years after publication when made public in the name of an organization. Therefore, if we deduct 50 years from the current 2010, if can be said that all copyrighted works prior to 1960 can be in the public domain. My image was taken in 1952. The portrait of Syng Man Rhee (Rhee Syng-Man in 1956.jpg) was taken in 1956. Rhee's portrait is in the public domain. Then why doesn't mine????

Hey~ This is mean, maker die 50 years after free use. But, you told Yun die 50 years after free use. This's mean error. --Idh0854 (talk) 03:29, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Again[edit]

What I meant is that copyright persists 50 years after the publication date, not 50 years after the death of the subject. If that were to be true, pictures of Barack Obama or other people would never be in the public domain. Also it is clearly stated that one photo is in the public domain 50 years after the death of the maker(which you consistently assert) or 50 years after the publication. This photo was published and took in 1952. 50 years have passed and the copyright therefore expired in 2002. And please answer my question regarding Syngman Rhee's photo. And you're replys are very hard for me to read because it has omitted many verbs and nouns. I am a Korean user and I know that you are a Korean user. If you'd like, you can reply me in Korean. I repeat, copyright expires after 50 years of publication date. I have nothing more to say. This comes directly from PD-South Korea (Original Text:This file is now in the public domain in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) because its term of copyright has expired there. According to Articles 39 to 44 of the Copyright Act of the Republic of Korea, under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Republic of Korea all copyrighted works enter the public domain 50 years after the death of the creator (there being multiple creators, the creator who dies last) or 50 years after publication when made public in the name of an organization.

For audio files and broadcasts, the term of protection ends 50 years after creation. According to Chapter IV Section 5 of the Copyright Act:

The protection period of neighboring rights shall come into effect from the following date and continue to subsist for a period of 50 years from the next year of such date:

1.For stage performances when the stage performance takes place; 2.For phonograms when the first fixation of sounds is made; and 3.For broadcastings when the broadcasting is made.)

Thanks!!!

(According to Articles 39 to 44 of the Copyright Act of the Republic of Korea, under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Republic of Korea all copyrighted works enter the public domain 50 years after the death of the creator (there being multiple creators, the creator who dies last) or 50 years after publication when made public in the name of an organization. File:Rhee Syng-Man in 1956.jpg도 1956년에 찍혔는데 이 이미지는 Public Domain에 들어가 있습니다.

--Idh0854 (talk) 10:11, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Please stop making Edit Wars and make more use of discussion pages[edit]

Dear Idh0854, I appreciate that you want to help here on Commons, but most of your Edits are inappropriate. Starting Edit Wars on several files (File:Japan sea map.png, File:North Korea map-CIA (zh).png, File:General map of South Korea.png, File:North Korea launch site in Sea of Japan map.png, File:Korea north map.png, File:Korea south map.png, File:Map of korea.png, ...) is also NOT appreciated here on commons.

As you already began a discussion here, please stand back and wait until it has been finished. It is obvious for me that you are mistaken as I have already proofen to you several times. Thank you very much --Valentim (talk) 13:52, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Please, please, please do not edit war again[edit]

This is also addressed to everyone reading this and it applies to any image. Please do not edit war images. Also, do not bring Wikipedia disputes to Commons. Just do not do it.

It is possible that some of you may not fully understand English, if so please ask at the Village Pump for help in understanding this important point.

Now, I have just created a derivative image of File:North Korea launch site in Sea of Japan map.png (see left) at File:North Korea launch site in Sea of Japan map - East Sea parentheses.png such that it contains the text "East Sea" in parentheses after "Sea of Japan" (see right).

with text "Sea of Japan" only
with text "East Sea" in parentheses after "Sea of Japan"

Each Wikimedia project can now choose which version they want to use. Creating derivative images such as these at the left and the right is how to resolve such disputes. No edit warring needed at all.

-84user (talk) 01:17, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. But, I don't to bring Wikipedia disputes to Commons. (I'm rollback the first contribution.) I think to important is 'POV'. So, I change the first contribution. But, 'he or she' is change too. Also, occur the edit war. This is 'unfortunate'. sorry. Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 05:24, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
And, I want to POV(So, first contribution for respect.(ko:사용자:Idh0854/파일) And I want to use "both 'sea of japan' and 'east sea'". Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 06:19, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
As a note, both images referred to in this discussion need descriptions in Korean (even if the images themselves are in English) - Idh0854, if you want, why not post descriptions of those two in Korean? You can note in Korean that in one the name "Sea of Japan" is used, and in another both names are used. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:08, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Umm.. I'm know that. But, 'He or she' is rollback about my contribuion. --Idh0854 (talk) 08:37, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
If you are refering to me: No, I wouldn't as long as your comments are appropriate. --Valentim (talk) 19:21, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't understand. your first("If you are refering to me:") write. Yes. You're qualified. But, you keep in mind, here is no en.wikipedia. Umm, my comments is not right 100%. But, I keep POV. Therefore, I use to both 'sea of japan' and 'east sea'. You should to keep POV. So, I implore you, please Don't back the frist contribuion! Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 07:25, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Commons user license tag[edit]

Yes, you are welcome to fulfill my request if you wish :)

User:Raboe001/licence needs a Korean translation. Currently the languages it has are German, English, Spanish (missing a group of sentences), French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, and Chinese.

Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 14:48, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Okay, at tomorrow.(2010. 8. 28.) (But, what is Ra Boe?) --Idh0854 (talk) 15:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
RaBoe is a user on the Commons. He is a German who uploads many photos from various European countries. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:06, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Umm, then, include N, korea? --Idh0854 (talk) 15:50, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
AFAIK North Korea doesn't use internet (much), so I would only use the South's flag. With China, both PRC and ROC have internet. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:34, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi! How is the translation coming along? WhisperToMe (talk) 04:01, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh, so sorry. I was so busyed. But, can translation until this weekend.(Now, I'm doing translation.) Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 10:39, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
You are welcome :) WhisperToMe (talk) 06:36, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Some languages express things in different ways. Also some translations may have info that is not stated in other translations (i.e. the Japanese one may have statements that apply to users within Japan) - And on Commons some descriptions can have information in one language that isn't yet in another language. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:30, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for doing the Korean translation :) WhisperToMe (talk) 16:32, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
I see! Right now the Spanish and Polish statements are missing some sentences. I'm working on getting some people to translate the remaining sentences for those ones. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:55, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

You were warned previously over your edit warring about Japanese/Korean naming. You were told that the way to resolve this was to create a derivative work which has the opposite naming convention to the other. SO WHY ARE YOU EDIT WARRING NOW? This behaviour is not appropriate for Commons. Take a week out. -mattbuck (Talk) 14:22, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

I notified User:84user hereby regarding our licence tag dispute. I hope we both can step back until he gave his statement. --Valentim (talk) 18:44, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello Idh0854, I have asked for advice at Commons talk:Licensing#Japan, Korea, or other. Please could you say what you mean by "English parson"? Do you mean the photo was published in the United Kingdom? Do you have a published source before 1954? Please answer at Commons talk:Licensing#Japan, Korea, or other, in your own language if that is more comfortable. -84user (talk) 09:57, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion on File:Shelling of north korea in 2010.PNG[edit]

Hello Garam, how about seperating this file in three different files (an english one, a korean one and a blank one useable as template for other language versions)?

PS: You were right in correcting me about the categorizing, I didn't noticed that I forgot to add a Category for the ROC, too. The now new inputet Categories are the same Categories to similar maps I found there. --Valentim (talk) 15:03, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

You are using "仁川廣域市" for Incheon. As far as I know "廣" is a Character not existing in Japanese. They write 仁川広域市 for Incheon. Can you fix that misspelling? Thank you. --Valentim (talk) 15:21, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Why does anyone arbitration? This is so unfortunate. --Idh0854 (talk) 03:50, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Meaning that you raise the issue on the Administrators' noticeboard about the disputed images (if the discussion has failed to resolve the issues) for further discussion with third party (uninvolved editors/Admins) opinions.
Also if you have a different version of a file never upload over an existing one as it is likely to be reverted and will always likely to turn into an edit war, so always upload as a new derivative work by using this tool.
I will be willing to unblock you (this also goes for Tm and Historiographer) if you agree to no longer edit war on any file on Commons, use talk pages (File or User talk pages) and use other means (such as taking it to COM:AN or COM:AN/U [if it is about another editor]). If you recommence edit warring you will be re-blocked but for a longer period of time. Bidgee (talk) 04:23, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Of course. If the user actively participate talk and no refuse talk, I can do it. Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 05:59, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

File talk:Greater Japanese empire.png[edit]

Elmor (talk) 12:13, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

--Idh0854 (talk) 05:34, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 16:49, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
그 이유 중 하나로는 19세기 초, 서양 열강(Western World & great power)들의 조약(Treaty)이 있습니다.
--Idh0854 (talk) 07:32, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 15:38, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
--Idh0854 (talk) 09:02, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
The focus of this volume is therefore the formal colonial empire of Japan: Taiwan, Korea, Karafuto (southern Sakhalin), the Kwantung Leased Territory on the Liaotung peninsula, and the Nan'yo(the Japanese mandate islands of Micronesia).
Elmor (talk) 11:36, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Idh0854 (talk) 11:44, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 14:26, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 16:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
제가 요 며칠 간(for a few days) 바빠서 Upload는 커녕(far from), 책도 읽지 못했네요. --Idh0854 (talk) 07:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 18:18, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
--Idh0854 (talk) 05:43, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 17:54, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

--Idh0854 (talk) 01:35, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 11:26, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 20:12, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
--Idh0854 (talk) 02:34, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 15:46, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
--Idh0854 (talk) 14:16, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 09:35, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
--Idh0854 (talk) 10:24, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Elmor (talk) 09:09, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Nuvola apps important.svg Hi! It has come to my attention that you have removed a warning which says that a file doesn't have enough information about the source or license conditions. Nevertheless, it seems to me that this information is still missing and I have restored the tag. You may either add the required information or, if you think that required information is already given, put the image up for a deletion request so that it won't automatically be deleted. Thank you.
