Please use the correct date format[edit]

Hi Ireas,

Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you mentioned a date on File:Boston bei Nacht.JPG. Please know that in order for dates to be automatically detected and translated into other languages it needs to be in the YYYY-MM-DD format (ie. 2024-01 for January 2024 or 2024-04-25 for 25 April 2024). Also, for other (less specific) dates use {{Other date}} for centuries, ranges, 'circa' etc. like this: {{other date|between|1899|1903}} for "between 1899 and 1903

date QS:P,+1500-00-00T00:00:00Z/6,P1319,+1899-00-00T00:00:00Z/9,P1326,+1903-00-00T00:00:00Z/9

Hi, i noticed before that "commonsense" was used for your bot-moves. Please do not forget to initiate (imho by "DIY") that "review" to "get the categories fixed", as it was not started as of October 4, 2010 (referring to those bot-moves on October 1 to Category:Canton of Lucerne). btw: i suppose on DE-WP there are lots of people starting such s... jobs, on Wikimedia commons there are not ;-) As mentioned, Category:Kantonsschule Sursee already has been started ... Inzwischen habe ich eine neue Version mit höherer Auflösung unter dem Namen Bautzen_1841.jpg bei Wi.de hochgeladen und werde diese auch zukünftig nutzen. Vielleicht können Sie die alte Version löschen (oder löschen lassen ??). Bin selber etwas ungeübt...

Hi, as pointed before, your "over-flooding" categories by bot-moves, using senseless categories.

If you start a bot-move, imho you may fell "responsible" to check at least before starting that bot-move (there is a option to do so) !

Please use useful categories (and please check commonsense categories given!!) and don't over-categorize your images, i.e. please do not categorize your uploads of Coats of arms (an example of your recent activity):

Category:Local government (!!)+
Category:Political geography (!!) +
Category:Stadtplanung (!!) +
Category:Political geography (!!) +
Category:Political history (!!) +
Category:Administration (!!) +

As mentioned before, once again, you'll help to save time and capacity on commons by categorizing:

Category:Coats of arms of the canton of Glarus (+ for example Category:Glarus)

And please, "images" of (very) poor quality - your bot moves regarding "Cities and villages in the catnon of St. Gallen" - additionaly classify as Category:Blurred images and Category:Small images (if so).

Hi! Thanks for your advices. I do know the categorisation system very well, and if I transfer files, I clean them up properly.
The point is that I do not move the files myself. They are moved from German Wikipedia users using my bot, see de:WP:CTB. Actually, *they* have to look after the moved file, but obviously, some do not.
In this case, it is better to talk to them instead of talking to me. But you are right, to be more transparent, the files should be marked as moved by Boteas.

Bei allen Schweizer Gemeindewappen (mit einer Ausnahme), die von Dir hochgeladen wurden, ist PD-GERMANGOV als Lizenz angegeben. Vielleicht ist das eine Fehlfunktion des Skripts, ich berichtige das beim Abarbeiten der entsprechenden Löschkandidaten. Das Script kann halt nicht wissen, wann {{Bild-PD-Amtliches Werk}} für Deutschland gilt und wann für die Schweiz. Es gibt bestimmt noch etliche Wappen Schweizer Gemeinden, die die falsche Lizenzvorlage haben.
