Crise du crédit

Salut,

Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 14:41, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Va pour « mode d'acquisition ». Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 17:17, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the help, please add the answers to my two questions to the delreq: Permission on all attribution images from the website or only the uploaded, OTRS ticket id? Thanks again, --Martin H. (talk) 13:46, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Realy, good work! The images in http://www.axisforpeace.net/rubrique13.html are from 2005 and no new images are added long time. Two options:
  1. fixing the images we have on Commons and transfer those from the fr.wikipedia to have them cleaned up (High res; OTRS; source and author; adding to Category:Photographs from Axis For Peace)
  2. creating a source template similar to Template:PD-imf.org or better Template:MSC whith only indication of source, no license directly embedded
Do you think it worths a own source template? --Martin H. (talk) 14:20, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, im reverting my close per your comment on my talkpage. Will you keep the case? --Martin H. (talk) 21:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Italian translation needed

Here is the transaltion

  • artist/maker = Artista / autore.
  • description = Descrizione.
  • dimensions = Dimensioni.
  • credit line = I don't think you need this: http://www.investorwords.com/1206/credit_line.html whose translation is "linea di credito". We are not talking about banks... Please explain.
  • accession number = Numero d'inventario.
  • location = Collocazione.
  • source = Fonte / Fotografo.
  • references = It depends from what you mean. "Rimandi", "Riferimenti", "Pubblicazioni"...
  • other versions = Altre versioni dell'immagine.

--User:G.dallorto (talk) 23:57, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

✓ Done. Missing the credit line which is used to indicate where the work come from (former collections, how the museum get it, and so). Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 09:00, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Then the Italian translation is "Provenienza". Best wishes. --User:G.dallorto (talk) 11:06, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

missing images

hello Jastrow! you renamed this image File:0027MC.jpg to File:Omphalos Apollo (Musei capitolini) 0027MC.jpg, but now it is missing on 3 pages in wiki-pt - and possibly in other wikis too. you can't simply delete - or rename, which is the same - a file while it is being used. tetraktys (talk) 05:42, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

hi Jastrow! sorry, wasn't you? your name appeared in the pages' history. anyway thanks for replacing them!!! my regards! tetraktys (talk) 15:17, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

the whole thing wasn't clear for me too. i was checking my watchlist and i read "Removendo 0027MC.jpg, por ter sido apagado no Commons por Jastrow (Removing 0027MC.jpg, deleted from Commons by Jastrow)" in 3 pages, so i wondered why you didn't check usage before deleting the original file. now i guess you just forgot to do that hehehehe. worry no longer, all is ok now. thanks and have a nice day! tetraktys (talk) 17:59, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

DR

If you know anything about this DR, please feel free to make a comment. I think Pieter is wrong and that US FOP does not cover the image. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:10, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Dutch translations

  • artist/maker Kunstenaar/auteur
  • description: beschrijving
  • dimensions afmetingen
  • credit line Afkomst-schenker
  • accession number Inventaris nummer
  • location Plaats
  • source Bron
  • references Referenties
  • other versions Andere versies

'Credit line' is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc. 'Afkomst-schenker betreft de manier waarop het werk bekomen werd: aankoop, schenking, in leen, ...

Here you are. Note that source is not clear to me. --Foroa (talk) 18:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Spanish translations needed

Hello. Here's my translation:

  • Artist/MakerArtista/Autor
  • DescriptionDescripción
  • DimensionsDimensiones
  • Credit line?
  • Accession numberNúmero de inventario (or Nº de inventario)
  • LocationUbicación
  • ReferencesReferencias
  • Source/PhotographerOrigen/Fotógrafo
  • Other versionsOtras versiones

For the moment, I don't know how to translate Credit line, but I'll consult some Spanish-speaking users.

Regards,

--Zaqarbal (talk) 15:01, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Even more precise than Historia del objeto: I've consulted the Spanish-language Wikipedia, and we have chosen Adquisición. Regards. --Zaqarbal (talk) 06:58, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Also I've edited the Catalan-language version. Cheers! --Zaqarbal (talk) 12:38, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Mithra/Mithras

Hi, thanks. I'm sorry. I was confounded because on it.wiki the two gods are present in the same voice with the same name. Bye. --Harlock81 (talk) 19:52, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Date question

Hi! I'm writting this article ex novo and I need to know if the date you wrote here (1861) is the real one, because there is a little turmoil with the dates of his journeys. Thank you so much :) Kordas (sínome!) 19:51, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Fixed, thank you so much again for the quick answer :D À bientôt! Kordas (sínome!) 21:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

FOP in Middle East

Does Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, or Syria have FOP for sculptures or buildings? Your FOP section on Commons don't mention these states? I was just wondering.

  • It is unfortunate that on Wikipedia, people are encouraged to download their pictures on Commons. But most people don't know photos of modern art work and buildings in France, Belgium, Greece, Italy or the former Soviet states is not allowed on Commons. Most people don't even know about FOP. Then if their images are deleted, they may get alienated from Wikipedia/WikiCommons. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:49, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
By the way, if you speak Vietnamese, you may be able to respond to this DR. Someone has asked for a Vietnamese speaker to translate the text for the images. It looks like a difficult case already...even without the language barrier. --Leoboudv (talk) 09:07, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
That's OK. I thought you spoke Vietnamese from your last name but its not a big deal. Cheers, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:35, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Jouets et droit d'auteur

Bonsoir,

Pourrais-tu développer ton argumentation lorsque tu écris "Not all toys are copyrighted; this is not an original artwork" dans Commons:Deletion requests/File:Clydon.jpg, car cela contredit "Legally, most toys are art" qui est écrit sur Commons:Derivative_works#I_know_that I_can.27t_upload_photos_of_copyrighted art_.28like_paintings_and_statues.29.2C but_what_about_toys.3F_Toys_are_not_art.21.

Vaison

En effet, je me suis fait la réflexion aussi tout à l'heure. Je vais créer une nouvelle catégorie spéciale. Teofilo (talk) 16:07, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

South Arabian Script Image

It seems by studying the glyphs that this image http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Panel_Almaqah_Louvre_DAO18.jpg is mirrored. Can you verify please?

Mobilier urbain JCDecaux / Starck

Bonjour Jastrow.

Merci beaucoup. File:Cameo Julian the Apostate Inv312a CdM Paris.jpg

Hello. Regarding File:Cameo Julian the Apostate Inv312a CdM Paris.jpg, are you sure it shows Julian? The caption says "Roman Emperor, perhaps Julian the Apostate, second half of the 2nd century AD", but if it is really 2nd century it can't be Julian (4th century). --TcfkaPanairjdde (talk) 11:41, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
