File:Resideo logo.png[edit]

Hi Jkg1997. I am still learning how to add images. I'm trying to add the Resideo company logo to an infobox I've created on the Resideo draft page. What is the best way to do that? Many thanks. Nellie04 (talk) 19:51, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nellie04: If your file is not copyright violation, please add {{PD-Textlogo}} and {{Trademarked}}. Make sure if you review the license properly. Jkg1997 (talk) 19:58, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About Copyright violations.[edit]

Hi Jkg1997,

Terribly sorry about it. I thought that the images were having some problems like the size etc, so were getting rejected. Unfortunately didn't see the notices, and kept uploading other images. I went through the "Fair Use" policy, but couldn't comprehand. Please see my response to Patrcik Rogel for his help with my violations (not sure, if it is possible to see or not).

Thanks :-)

About Copyright violations.[edit]

Hi Jkg1997,

I have understood the problem from Mr. Patrick. I was issued multiple warnings because the images I was trying to add were found on facebook. I have provided the clarification to him that the images were certainly shared from my own facebook and twitter accounts. I own those images and have full authority over them. I have asked him the best way to add the images now (off course after my ban is lifted :-)), and waiting for his response.

Thanks for all your help on this matter :-)

Flickr washing[edit]

Hi JKG:

You have marked a number of my images as infringing copyright or for deletion based on the fact that they have "missing or false information on their copyright status" I can assure you that any attempt to do this was inadvertent as I'm working directly with the artist Aune Sand and his gallery/employer on this Wikipedia, and uploaded via Flickr with his approval.

Is there a resource you can point me to to upload to Flickr correctly? Or to migrate from Flickr correctly so the images aren't marked for deletion? I assure you we are adhering to the free guidelines set by Wikimedia Commons/wikipedia.

Thanks, -Taylor — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taylorengstrom91 (talk • contribs) 23:39, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Aidayoung’s Question[edit]

Can you explain exactly how can I upload images taken by me and not be accused of copyright violation? Is it enough that a user claims images are not mine? How do I exactly prove I took them? These are not rhetorical questions - I just want to understand Aidayoung (talk) 02:16, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Aidayoung: Did you know, the Wikimedia Commons is only accept free files and other free content. Some uploads taken from internet, it may be subject for copyright. Therefore, it a copyright violation in Commons. Fair use is not allowed, it may be subject to Criteria for speedy deletion see Commons:Licensing for more information about the guidelines for the upload files to Commons. If you several uploading files on Commons will be blocked from editing for some activities, or loosing your contributions for some Wikimedia projects. Thanks but my question refers to this situation - I take a picture and upload it - Another user claims this is not true and I didn’t take the picture and am breaching copyright - How do I prove I did indeed take the picture? Thanks for your patience in answering Aidayoung (talk) 00:28, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
