Wrong upload[edit]
Good morning, Lotje. Last night I decided to edit this file (File:Calyx crater with Maenads dancing (4th cent. B.C.) in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens on 6 September 2018.jpg). When I uploaded it (22:33, 6 April 2023), I realized that it was the wrong one. Instead of uploading an image depicting Maenads dancing, I uploaded that of a couple. Even though, I uploaded two version of the correct file, afterwards, I noticed that the thumbnail (if I am using the right term) had not been updated. So, whenever I click on the link (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Calyx_crater_with_Maenads_dancing_(4th_cent._B.C.)_in_the_National_Archaeological_Museum_of_Athens_on_6_September_2018.jpg), instead of seeing the Maenads, I see the couple. Can you please delete the erroneous file so that the "thumbnail" will be updated. Also, the image with the couple should not be there. I made a mistake uploading it because I was very tired last night. My apologies for the inconvenience and I thank you in advance.
- @George E. Koronaios: no need to panic
. As far as I can see, the original file has gone. Probably you nominated it for deletion (in the left sidebar "Nominate for deletion"). Also, even if I would have wanted to delete it, I am afraid I could not be of any assistance to you since I do not have the user rights to delete files. Sorry. Have a nice day George. Beste Lotje,

Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on 1 May 2023, 23:59:59 UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
