Thanks a lot for your uploads[edit]

A Wikimedia Commons barnstar for you.

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your uploads of stamps of Iraq, and also for the fact that you do a great job trying to categorise your files as well as possible. Please accept this barnstar, you do deserve it. It is so great to see such contributions to this project.

If you need help, let me know. I don't promice to drop everything else and only work on your uploads, but I can lend a hand if something is important. ℺ Gone Postal ( ) 04:58, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Renaming of Iraqi currency notes[edit]

Hi, do you have any sort of reference which can confirm your claim that these were issued in 1932 and not 1931 as dated on the notes? TommyG (talk) 12:04, 3 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Also, while we're going about renaming them, it would maybe be useful to give these files slightly more descriptive names? TommyG (talk) 12:05, 3 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, @TommyG. reference from Central Bank of Iraq Website https://cbi.iq/static/uploads/up/file-152231979328979.pdf page 4 (in arabic) --Mohammdaon (talk) 13:06, 3 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
name like " 1 Iraqi dinar 1932 front.jpg"? --Mohammdaon (talk) 13:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks, I'm still a bit confused about why the notes say July 1931 though and I'm not sure what would make most sense with regards to naming, whether it it should reflect what's printed on the note or whether it should reflect the actual issue date. But, your suggestion for more descriptive naming seems reasonable. TommyG (talk) 07:57, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Adding Arabic descriptions[edit]

Hi. Thank you for editing some of my uploads recently through the addition of an Arabic description to my English ones. However, the Arabic phrases should be consistent with the English ones (translation), not an abbreviated or a short sentence, e.g., this Ur-Nammu's one, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Foundation_figurine_of_Ur-Nammu,_from_Nippur,_Iraq._21st_century_BCE._Iraq_Museum.jpg. If you are unable to do so, you have the other option of relocating your short Arabic sentence to the "Caption" section of the image. Otherwise, I have yo revert your edit because the Arabic description does not match the English one and it does not convey its message. Thank you.
