Myoporum oppositifolium

Hello Muriel,

I am writing Wikipedidea pages about Myoporum species at the moment and was very please to be able to add your beautiful photo of Myoporum oppositifolium to one of them. Each time I added something about the plant's description, I could see that feature in your image. (Serrated leaves, tuberculate stems and leaves etc.) Thank you!

By the way, Melaleuca is my "magnum opus" and I managed to photograph a few WA species recently. Do you have any - or any other myrtaceae?

Hallo MurielBendel, ich habe soeben Ihr Bild File:Carduus personata flowers2.jpg zu Arctium minus geschoben. Carduus personata hätte direkt unter den Blütenköpfen einen stachelig geflügelten Stängel. Sie haben da nämlich eine Klettenart fotografiert, keine Distel. Die Gattung Arctium ist ein wenig schwierig, aber wegen der recht kleinen Blütenköpfe mit z. T. rotspitzigen Hüllblättern kommt wohl vor allem Arctium nemorosum und Arctium minus in Frage. Arctium nemorosum ist eine in der Regel sehr große Pflanze mit überhängenden Ästen im Blütenstand. Allerdings sind die Stiele der Blütenköpfe z. T. zu lang dazu, da diese bei Arctium nemorosum in der Regel kürzer sind als die Köpfchen selbst. Es bleibt Arctium minus, und zwar wahrscheinlich subsp. minus mit unterseits dünn graufilzigen Blättern. Das ist meines Erachtens keine völlig wasserdichte Bestimmung, aber gut genug, zumal Ihr Bild vermutlich bisher das typischste Foto für Arctium minus auf Commons ist. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Ihr Bild File:Carduus personata flowers1.jpg keine Klette zeigt, sondern eine Distel. Das Bild File:Carduus personata flowers2.jpg sollte hingegen noch umbenannt werden. Hallo Robert Flogaus-Faust, besten Dank fürs Verschieben zu Arctium minus, da ist mir ein peinlicher Fehler unterlaufen beim Anschreiben der Foto... Absolut einverstanden, Carduus personata ist es auf keinen Fall. Ich denke auch, dass es am ehesten Arctium minus ist, v.a. auf Grund der rötlichen, inneren Hüllblattspitzen. Gerne würd ich das File umbennenen - aber ich muss unumwunden gestehen, dass ich das auf die Schnelle nicht hinkriege. Falls Sie die Berechtigung haben, dies zu tun, wäre ich sehr froh um Ihre Unterstützung. Beste Grüsse, --MurielBendel 22:14, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

Ich habe die Umbenennung beantragt. Ich bin auch kein "File Mover", der Dateien umbenennen darf, aber man kann ganz einfach einen solchen um eine Umbenennung bitten, indem man oben links neben dem Suchfeld mit der Maus auf "More" geht und dann "Move" anklickt und das erscheinende Formular entsprechend ausfüllt. Sycamore Maple at Chaltenbrunnen, Switzerland

Greetings MurielBendel! I am writing to you regarding the picture you've taken of the Sycamore Maple in Chaltenbrunnen, in 2005... do you happen to remember exactly where you took it? It seems to be a very beautiful tree and I would like to get a glimpse of it myself if it still exists, in my upcoming trip to Switzerland... don't know if you'll see this since it's such an old topic, but hey, one can try! Thank you for your message! Wow, 2005 was a long time ago :-)

I tried to figure out where exactly I went hiking back then and where the sycamore maple might roughly be located… but I didn’t succeed. All I remember is a longer circular hike south of Meiringen, in the municipality of Schattenhalb, which passed through Chaltenbrunnen.

In this region there are many impressive, old sycamore maple trees (in German: Bergahorn), including some a bit south of Chaltenbrunnen in the Rosenlaui area. There is even a “BERGAHORNweg Schwarzwaldalp – Rosenlaui” (Google has the details, including hiking trail information → I think this is the easiest and best way to visit impressive sycamore maple trees in this area).
